What are people using to midi up their entire set up?

Whether I’m using the iPad or MPC or even computer to sequence, I’m always running up against the reality of not having enough midi ports to connect to multiple synths. What is the general solution to get like three or four or more synths all being controlled by one sequencer?

Also, some of my synthesizers are keyboards where I’d like to be able to play into the sequencer and have the midi route back into the same keyboard with local off. (as opposed to one master keyboard controlling every synth) so I need to be running multiple midi input into the sequencer as well as output

Whatever the solution is, I’m looking for it. I’d like to be able to hook up USB keyboards along with the traditional midi din and would prefer one box that does this rather than a whole ton of them. Any of you guys have an all-in-one solution? And if not, whatever the solution is, I’d like to hear thanks!

Edit: i would like to keep the price (of an all in one box) under 300, preferably under 250. Need more money for synths!

How to stop Loopy pro from maintaining the length of a loop after deleting its contents

(SOLVED)For some reason now whenever I create a loop and then clear it, it saves the length of the loop I recorded and I have to manually go in and set the length to “unset” every time. It did not use to do this and it’s tedious having to do this every time I clear a loop I made. Does anyone know why it’s doing this? Is there a setting I put on that is doing this? It used to be whenever I cleared the loop the loop would be completely fresh with no preset length now I have to manually do it. Thanks for anyone who can help.

Clip recording not quantizing the end point of recording. Major problem. Bug/oversight.

Record ending is not quantized to the bar when using non-fixed length clip recording

This really irritating me and it seems like a bug or simply an oversight. When i record into a clip with 1 bar quantization it starts recording on the 1. Good, exactly as it should.

But when i want to end recording, pressing record before the bar ends, it doesnt quantize to the bar, it stops recording any input immediately and then replays my half recorded clip on the next bar. It should continue recording until the end of the bar and then stop when it loops around. Thats what all other clip based gear/software does.

The matrix workflow is one of the main reasons i bought this mpc and im pretty miffed at this behavior. Am i just doing something wrong? It really doesnt look like it

PS: im using non-fixed length clip recording, where this feature is required, as this is my preferred method of working. Im manually ending the recordings with the record or overdub buttons. Obviously this isnt an issue on fixed length recording as i assume the recording stops automatically at the fixed length.

I just found out the novation launch control. MK 3 has accelerated in coders and I’m kind of infuriated. Please advise.

Long story short I’ve been looking for a long time for a good small midi knob controller with five pin midi din to fit my Blofeld keyboard and I thought the MK 3 was finally going to be it and I was very happy that it came out and was looking forward to buying it!

Only today did I learn it had accelerated encoders. This is the crappiest idea gear manufacturers ever came up with. Want to turn a knob and have the value go where you put it? Too bad, it can’t be that simple anymore. They came up with a new “feature” that screws up the most basic of functions. Now it’ll go way too far if you’re moving fast or not far enough if you’re moving slow. Now you’re going to need to start gauging your hand speed to do what was once simple. Good luck in a live situation with those values jumping all over the place if you go too fast or barely moving if you try to change the parameter slow. You’re going to have to adjust your speed to the acceleration algorithm to try to get the speed you were actually going for, and still make sure it’s all in time with the music somehow. that’s a ridiculous amount of nonsense and headache just to turn a knob. Say goodbye to simple joy of sweeping a filter back-and-forth fast in a live situation reliably.

This is a case of manufacturers fixing something that wasn’t broken, and breaking it.

Anyway, I won’t turn this into a rant more than that. Sorry to be inflammatory. I’m just frustrated. I just wanna know can this feature be turned off? Completely?

Thanks.
