Where on Model 3 HW3 does one see the virtual car?

I’m told that regenerative braking as well as normal braking shows up on the virtual car on my big screen. In park, I’m pressing the brake and I don’t see anything. Same for R, N, D. What screen am I looking for?

Stubborn stains or scratches in a toilet bowl can be removed with fine grit sandpaper.

I used a closet auger (also known as a toilet snake) to break through a nasty clog in my parent’s guest bathroom. Unfortunately I left a few scratches, and I knew it was a good thing I cleared it because I knew my mom would shit upon seeing that. Fortunately I looked up to how to properly use a closet auger so I didn‘t repeat my mistake and the guy said if you do scratch the porcelain a few licks with very fine sandpaper would do the trick.

I had some black sandpaper (for metallic surfaces) and he was correct indeed. Took a bit more than a ”few licks” but in less than a minute the scratches were gone. The toilet (at least 25 years old) also had a stain all along the water level. Another minute or so and that was gone as well. Mom was pleased and wanted to know my secret. Tell her and admit I fucked up? I remained mute but did the rest of the toilets to keep my sin secret.

Phone is constantly stealing focus when I’m on a call. WTF??!!??

Someone calls my iPhone and I answer it on my iPad. Or I make a call from iPad. I then get the “on call” window

https://preview.redd.it/67vp42xd980h1.jpg?width=2388&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=483f39d6071e8d74747ab980e7f764b2f20b14f1

Now I want to switch to another app. Safari, Notes, whatever. I drag up the dock, tap the app, and then it opens. Then it immediately switches back to the “on call” window. I‘ve tried everything I can think of, then tried everything Gemini suggested. Stage Manager, Windows, Classic, disable handoff, background refresh, many many more. Sometimes things started working again, for a minute. I try repeating the “fix” I tried and then it stops again.

This just started happening in the last week or so. I’m at wits end trying to fix this. Have you heard of this “focus stealing” behavior from the “in call” app before?

Can you see your “Saftey score” without having Tesla insurance?

I’m wary of Tesla insurance, for a variety of reasons. But the biggest one is this safety score which is used to determine your bill. Is there a way to develop your score without the insurance? This way you can learn/game your driving behavior accordingly? Tesla shouldn’t care either way, because driver’s with a better score should by definition have fewer collisions.

Tesla Insurance: What are the Alternative insurance options for?

When going thru the app’s insurance, there are options for injury and property damage. Then there are two more of those same options, but for uninsured/underinsured drivers.

But then there are options for Alternative uninsured/underinsured drivers. What is this and why is it here?

I’ve read that it takes as long to charge a battery from 80% to 100% as long as it does to charge from 0% to 80%. The Fast Fill vs Trickle Fill stages. Is this where the “normally charge to 80%” rule stems from, the Fast Fill puts less stress on the battery than the Trickle Fill?

I just drove from Florida back to Nova. I need an inside/outside detailing done. I’d prefer a mobile come-to-you service, but am willing to wait as long as there’s something to do/public transportation nearby. Who do you use?

In a gas powered car, you take your foot off the accelerator and you start to coast. When learning to drive a Tesla, I quickly discovered that you can almost entirely avoid using the brakes by releasing the accelerator and letting regen kick in. You aren’t exactly coasting, but you’re slowing down faster because of the regen. Do the brake lights turn on during regen?

Besides pressing the brake pedal, how else are brake lights activated?

Let’s say you want to stop FSD, but don’t want to do it by braking or pulling the steering wheel. What should you do? I don’t want to light the brake light, and grabbing the steering wheel often makes the car lurch.

I ask because I’ve been learning FSD (and Tesla in general) on both a Model 3 and Model S. One starts with the stalk, the other tapping the screen. Isn’t there a “clean” way to stop FSD?

In my 2019 M3 (where the only USB data ports are located in the 2019 M3) the USBA ports aren’t powerful enough to charge wirelessly I want to charge via the 12V cigarette port.

I’m trying to pass USB cables from the center console under the armrest to the space underneath the wireless charging pads that newer models have.

Is there a way to do this without drilling?

I’ve got a new to me 2019 Performance Model 3. When I’m under Dynamics I see Track Mode (grayed out) with a Customize button next to it. Clicking Customize shows a Race and Drift Preset.

Race Preset is checked. Does that mean it’s active? I don’t plan on going to the track. Regardless, how do I use these settings? How do I turn them off to drive like a normal?

I’ve read that you want to charge to 80% for daily driving. Is there a setting in the app to only charge to 80%? I’m about to do my first long range trip. When I hit superchargers, do I have to do anything besides plugging in? Do I charge to 80% and take off, or wait till it gets higher?

I need to mount a license plate on the front of my 2019 Model 3. I’m considering a tow-hook mount solution that screws into the tow hook on the front bumper. I like the offset look, but was wondering if there were any gotchas I should be worried about.

Thoughts?

I just got off the phone with Medicare, and they were trying to explain the differences between a Part C plan that has Rx drugs over Original Part D. Part C is limited to your geographical area, what providers they allow, and other “limitations“. Part D didn’t have any of those.

Which begs question why anyone would choose Part C? Now I have a disability (going on to 25th month), and maybe that is making part D more attractive. But this seems like a no brainer decision which makes me wonder what the catch is.

My dad’s maltipoo (Eigen) and I have been doing clicker-training. When he does a desired behavior I say Yessssss! cli-CLICK and immediately give him a piece of cheese. We have been practicing SPEAK and QUIET in order to teach him there are times we really want/need him to shut up. He knows and obeys SPEAK well enough, it’s the QUIET part I want him to follow. I‘ve been trying to get him to associate SPEAK and QUIET have something in common with each other, hoping he makes the connection. I give a couple of SPEAK commands, reward desired behaviors, then a QUIET command. I count two Mississippis and if he just stares at me, he gets his reward. I won’t know if this will work until he freaks out over a doorbell ring or worse someone getting out of the car he’s in. He goes apeshit at the thought of being left alone in the car. Getting him to perform the desired behavior under stress is like wondering if you can use Karate you trained for if under a real attack.

To break things up, I thought about doing something a little less serious. He often stands (and hops) on his hind legs when something or someone he wants is out of reach. As long as he isn’t jumping on people or things that don’t concern him, it’s an adorable trait, not a problem. I’d like to add this to his repertoire of tricks. With Animal Farm coming out in theaters I was hoping to make “Four legs good, two legs better!” the command. But that’s an awfully long phrase to use, isn’t it? What do you suggest we do?

My dad and I each have our phones included as keys to our two Teslas (2019 3 and 2026 S). We put our phones on the wireless charging pad when we get in. If we both get in, can the car figure out who’s behind the wheel and automatically select their profile?
