Tapping a message sends an emoji? Since when? How do I turn this off?

I am horrified at the thought that I've been accidentally sending emojis for however long this has been implemented. I intensely dislike emojies, stickers, text animations, etc. and have RCS turned off in part to avoid them. I am aghast that I've accidentally sent emojis to out of the blue merely by looking at or scrolling through older messages.

Please, how do I stop this?

Tire shaving question: Subaru Ascent AWD

Front tires are at 9/32. Rear tires are at 8/32. The rear pair is being replaced because one has an unrepairable slow leak/physical damage, and the shop is replacing both as a matched pair.

The new rear tires will be 11/32, so the car will have:
Front: 9/32
Rear: 11/32

All four tires will be the same make/model: Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3.

Subaru says 2/32 is the max difference, so this is right at the edge of being in spec. I’m trying to decide whether I should have the new pair shaved down slightly for extra margin.

A few specific questions:

Is 9/32 front and 11/32 rear meaningfully risky for the AWD drivetrain, or are normal variables such as inflation pressure, driving habits, measurement variation and uneven wear more significant than that 2/32 difference?

Since the new tires would start exactly at Subaru’s maximum allowed difference, is shaving them a prudent preventive step, unnecessary but harmless, or basically a waste?

Is tire shaving something to avoid unless clearly necessary, or is it a normal/safe solution in this kind of AWD situation?

We have a 1,000-mile Memorial Day road trip coming up (car camping at a music festival). Would that affect your recommendation?

There's a shop about 30 minutes away that does tire shaving, so it is not terribly inconvenient. I’m mainly trying to decide whether the expense is justified.

Backstory, in case it matters:

The tires were new in late 2024. In mid-2025, two had to be replaced under a road hazard warranty, when there was still minimal wear. Now the current wear is two tires at 9/32 and two at 8/32. The new pair will replace the two 8/32 that the older, non-replaced tires. A Subaru of Thesus thing going on.

The tech from a major retailer with an auto department offered to replace the rear pair for the cost of one prorated tire. They checked with their manager, the order was placed and paid for, so all's on track.
