Parallax II is my absolute favorite album of all time. I remember being blown away the day it came out, and I am still blown away by it today. I tried to learn riffs here and there, but always backed away when it got complicated.

I have been playing guitar for 21 years but would consider myself an intermediate level guitarist. I want to push myself to get to another level I have been never able to achieve. I bought the transcription for this album from sheet happens and am planning to tackle some of this behemoth.

I think I’m going to start with Lay Your Ghosts to Rest as it seems like a decent bridge from my current ability level.

Any guitarists have any tips for getting through? I have never really attempted to learn at this degree, but I am going to try to focus until I can at least play this one song.

Edit: Thanks for the advice! I am absolutely going to take these nice and slow. I just figure I’ll be stuck playing at the same level forever if I don’t challenge myself and I can’t think of a better bit of music to do it with.

My new job shipped a package containing my equipment earlier in the week. They did not provide me a tracking number. Last night, UPS showed up while i was asleep and attempted the delivery. They left a note saying that I could pick up at the UPS store, but it wasn’t there and the people at the store could not give me a straight answer why. When I finally got the tracking number from the info note, I found that they had attempted to make the delivery the day before as well, but I happened to not be home and that driver did not leave a note.

I have been on and off the phone with customer support, and the last guy told me all i could do was wait till early Monday morning and call to get an escalation to get the package delivered. I literally start my new job on Monday and need this equipment bright and early but they seemingly have it in limbo with no way to obtain it. Has anyone ever encountered this before and have a better idea what to do?

I am brand new to skating. I am trying to get some experience cruising to get a feel for the board but I live in an area that is incredibly flat. My best option is to learn how to push quickly so I can practice in nearby parking lots.

I found that I can’t easily commit to the push because I can’t put the right amount of force in without losing my center of gravity. I did try just accepting that I was going to fall and my board went flying behind me.

Every video I am watching tells me I need to get comfortable balancing on one foot and staying centered on the board.

Ive been more or less balancing myself with the board stationary in my living room, but what additional things can I do to build this skill?

I’m completely new to skateboarding and I am aware of the parks in the area, but I am looking for spots that I can go around and just practice very basic cruising so I can get the fundamentals down and where it won’t be frowned upon. Any recommendations are appreciated.
