What Role Does The United States and the Americas Play in G&B?

More so a general discussion, in any general sense the Americas would likely no longer be as we know them to be. Given the time being 1815 and the biggest divergence to me would have occurred in 1812 would the very obvious change occurring with the War of 1812.

The War of 1812 likely has an American Victory since British resources would be too tied up in Europe, but more so than that, cultures would be different.

Populations fleeing the Blight in Europe would be resettling across the Americas and United States, especially Polish, Germanic, and Slavic Populations. The American Frontier is likely far more populated due to migration by Europeans.

Id be likely Slavery could be ending in the United States due to the increasing European Populations thad sway the debate against slavery.

I’d imagine the US and Brazil are probably more industrialized or on the road to rapid industrialization ahead of our reality as they’d basically become the safe harbors for industry and economic growth to occur while the old world is ravaged by the Blight.

I’d imagine something like Ellis Island already exists given the threat the Blight poses and we’d see a return of an 1800s version of Plague Doctors in heavy wool and wax coats handling islands uses to isolate populations arriving in the Americas.

Also the men of science and inventors we typically associate with our advancements in technology have likely relocated to the Americas in an effort to prevent a sudden loss of scientific minds and research, basically to prevent a Burning of Alexandria type loss of knowledge.

What else do y’all think is occurring in the Americas?

Armstrong Calling!

Hey, it’s the Armstrong Colony in the Sea of Tranquility.

We got the Trans Lunar-Earth Comms Network back online, nice job blowing up the planet dorks.

Is the Enclave still operating or is it a lost cause at this point?

We’ve just been up here running the colony for the past 200 years since the lid blew on the planet. Would be good to know if any of y’all are still around.

Tellus

A world who's history diverged billions of years ago as the very tectonics of the Earth moved and asteroids impacted the surface, but it appears even great change leads to a familiar world.

Was Humanity Suppose to Go Galactic?

In my opinion, I think humanity becoming an interstellar civilization was not the plan of the Markers and Brethren Moons. Humanity going beyond the Sol System functionally makes it impossible for the Brethren Moons to consume humanity, because humanity can just run anyway.

I think a few events in DS were basically humanity defying its own fate, from the Nuclear War on Earth, destruction of the Black Marker, the isolation of the Red Markers, Inter-Colony Wars was humanity defying its fate intentionally and accidentally.

By the time of DS3 we know humanity has expanded to a considerable distance, has terraformed celestial bodies, and is capable of building mega structures in space. I think despite the Brethren Moons reaching Earth, the destruction of humanity is basically impossible because humanity, its colonies, its space ships, and spacestations can ensure humanity can run away from the threat and rebuild elsewhere and eventually come back to engage the Brethren Moons.

Wolfenstein Alt-His

Im thinking of writing an Alt His of the Machine Games Wolfenstein Timeline, but it being one where the progression of US technology remains roughly the same as reality. So 1944 the US makes its major strides in the development of jets, radars, small electronics, and radars, 1945 the US creates the Atomic Bomb, has the largest navy on Earth, ect ect.

But basically it results in a Cold War. Wanted to see what suggestions fans might have for a Wolfenstein where the World War of Wolfenstein came to a stalemate following the Atomic Bomb and the US getting access to the secret tech cache.

New Mareland 1042

Been working on a map art thing for New Mareland POV of a future Cold War after the Great War of Equus and the Great War of Griffonia happened. New Mareland was the first to get the Atomic Bomb.

Im having a fit of writers block so wanted to see about getting some suggestions and ideas from the community about what else I should add to this map, maybe more ideas, different map features, lore suggestions, ect ect.

Would appreciate the help!
