Frustrated!

I am 5 week post-op and i still can’t feel this part of my neck and it’s so swollen. I know it can take along time to heal but i am frustrated that not one single thing of getting cancer is ”easy”. I have my follow up doctors appointment tomorrow and i really hope they got all of the tumor out.

Bizarre feeling

I wear silicone tape everyday so i am still not used to see the scar on my neck. It is such a bizarre feeling that i have cancer and have to get surgery again and RAI. I try my best to feel my feelings so i don’t get overwhelmed but it is so hard. Like today i just want to get into bed and cry. I know everything will be okay but some days are harder.

Hyperthyroidism

I only have the right side of my thyroid left and i don’t know if it has any function (waiting for a date to remove it). I am 4 weeks post-op and have had my first bloodwork post-op and it showed that i have hyperthyroidism due to my high dosage of levothyroxine. But i don’t have any side effects or feel any different. Have any of you had the same experience? ❤️

Childhood friend

I (f,27) had the best childhood friend. We have known eachother since we were 2, we went to the same school until we were 15 and were neighbors through out or childhood. We remained in touch now in our 20’s but it fizzled out. Our parents hang out all the time but i don’t think she wants to be my friend anymore. I know that people can grow apart but i am really really sad about our ending friendship and i still wants to be friends.

Biggest lymph node

I have my post-op appointment on the 19th and i will get answers on how big the tumor was and how many lymph nodes had cancer cells in them. But i found out before hand that the biggest lymph node was 49 mm. I am kind of freaked out baceause it feels scary that it was so big. I am glad that it is gone and i am kind of excited to have my second surgery so the right side of my thyroid can be removed and i can move on to RAI.

Waiting for results

Half of my thyroid and several lymph nodes was removes almost 3 weeks ago. Before the surgery the doctor told me it was FV-PTC, so what why are they testing it again after surgery? Is it just to confirm? I am very confused and since it summer it takes a while to get answers from the doctors.

Scar

I almost fainted but today i took off the old tape and put on a new one. I thought that the scar would be thicker or bigger but i am so impressed with how thin it is 🎊

Voice loss

My surgery was today, they were able to remove the left side of my thyroid were the tumor was and all the lymph nodes on the left side. Turns out there was not 2 nodes, it was 20 that had cancer.

But my vocal cord was too strained or took to much damage to remove the right side of my thyroid. So now i have to get a camera down my nose to look at my damaged vocal cords and it has to recover before i can get surgery again. Please please please tell me everything will be okay on it’s own because i really don’t want to wait any longer or get surgery on my vocal chord.

Light headed

First of all, thank you so much for the respone on my last post! It feels calming to know that i am not ”overreacting”.

Does anyone else experience being light headed or feeling weak in the body when your anxious? It feels like i am going to faint for like 1 second and then i sit down and it just feels like anxiety.
