How do you decide when emerging research is worth acting on vs. waiting for more evidence?

This comes up a lot in my space, there's early research pointing in an interesting direction, but it's not fully proven yet. Act too early and you're betting on something that might not hold up. Wait too long and you've missed the window. I'm curious how others think about it. Is it about the quality of the source, the size of the bet, or something else entirely? Would love to hear how people have navigated this, especially if you've gotten it wrong in either direction.

How do you stay on top of research in your industry without it becoming a full time job?

Staying informed is a non-negotiable for me; new studies, market shifts, emerging trends all feed directly into how I make decisions. But the volume of information keeps growing and protecting that time is getting harder. I have a system that works reasonably well but I'm always looking to tighten it up. Curious what others have built: specific sources you trust, how you filter what's worth a deep read vs. a skim, and how you make sure it actually connects back to the business. What does that look like for you?

Do you need to cycle off peptides that include a human growth hormone compound; or is that only certain ones?

Been looking into cycling protocols and couldn't find a clear answer on this. If someone is already researching something like TB-500, does transitioning to another compound with an HGH component require a washout period first? Or does it really depend on the specific compound being researched? Is there a general rule of thumb here or is it compound by compound? Curious what others have come across.

Why are people choosing to self treat with peptides and other function health solutions they find on social media instead of working with their doctors?

Someone spends years in the conventional medical system, gets limited answers, and ends up finding answers on their FYP instead of through their doctors. Whether it’s peptides or some other alternative solution to chronic symptoms no one can explain. Is it because our overall health system is set up to cater to insurance? Are people just not trusting doctors enough anymore to seek out a personalized medicine provider? Or is it something else?

Curious to hear from ALL - do you think the rise of self treatment will continue to rise? Or is this an opportunity for personalized medicine to gain market share?

What do you think are the top peptides for cognitive function?

Semax and Selank seem to come up most whenever cognitive function is discussed. But I'm curious whether those are actually the strongest options research-wise, or just the most talked about. I'm also curious if there are compounds primarily studied for something else like recovery, inflammation, or gut health, where cognitive or neurological effects keep showing up as a secondary finding. That would be an interesting angle I haven't seen discussed much.

So two questions really. What do you think the top compounds are if cognitive function is the specific focus? And are there any that surprised you by showing neurological effects even though that wasn't the main research area? Would love to hear what people have actually dug into on this.

Is nicotine making a comeback as a research compound?

Not talking about smoking, only referring to the compound itself that is showing up in research. There are 2025 studies on nicotine and neuroprotection, specifically around Parkinson's and cognitive decline. The angle is that it interacts with receptors in the brain tied to memory and neuronal survival. Animal studies were actually looking promising.

Has this come across your radar? Curious what others have come across.

How much does half-life actually matter in peptide research? Trying to wrap my head around this.

I keep seeing half-life come up in discussions and I'm not totally sure I understand how much weight to put on it. Is half-life more of a practical consideration than a scientific one? Does it actually change the timeline for your research? Would love to hear how people with more experience in this think about it.

Anyone researching GHK-Cu for use cases outside of skincare?

Every time I see it mentioned, it's in the context of skin aging or collagen. It makes sense, but it looks like thats only one piece of what's being studied. There seems to be more emerging research around tissue repair and inflammation, and I feel like that can be apply to research outside of aesthetics. Either way, it's definitely a compound worth paying more attention to in longevity research broadly.

I'm curious whether the skincare angle has just dominated the conversation by default, or if there's a reason the other research doesn't get as much discussion.

Went down a BPC-157 rabbit hole this week

I honestly didn't expect to find this much research. I expected to find more stuff on gut and joint health, but I didn't realize how much more it did. For example, I was really surprised to see studies showing its effects on increased blood flow to damaged tissue. I also didn't realize it's been shown to influence how cells detect and respond to an injury. I know it's used in both gut health and recovery protocols, but I think there are probably other use cases. What do you think? Have you seen any interesting research use cases with BPC-157?

What are the most slept on peptides right now?

I feel like every Reddit post I see is about Reta, GHK, or BPC when there are literally hundreds of other peptides out there. Thoughts on these? I think these two are under-researched:

KPV - I like to think of it like a smaller, more targeted cousin to BPC-157. The research is focused on inflammation, particularly in the gut. Preclinical data is interesting and I don't think it gets nearly enough attention for what's there.

DSIP - Researched for sleep and stress response. The mechanism appears to be different from melatonin and is an interesting thing to research.

Why building a business in an industry you have zero experience in can be a good thing.

I didn't have a degree, a scientific background, or any formal training when I started building in biotech. That felt like a weakness for a long time. But here's what I've noticed: people who come from inside an industry often build the same thing just slightly better. People who come from outside ask why it has to be built that way at all.

Sometimes we're our own biggest roadblock. As founders, we think we need to have all the answers. Being in a completely unfamiliar space forced me to let go of that. I had to hire people who are smarter than me, and learn to be comfortable enough in my own role to let them lead. My job isn't to be an industry expert. My job is to build a structure where experts can do their best work and help me build something our industry has been craving.

Anyone else building in an unfamiliar industry? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Thoughts on Wolverine + KPV?

Curious if anyone has researched different variations of the Wolverine blend for recovery? I know most of the time it's just BPC-157 and TB4, but in my experience, blends that include KPV have shown some interesting results. There's decent preclinical data on KPV's role in modulating inflammatory pathways. Wolverine is already very synergistic, but adding KPV could kick it up a notch. Has anyone else researched this?
