Planned Parenthood and other groups launch coalition to oppose Colorado's anti-trans ballot measures

"Families Not Politics" — including Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, Interfaith Alliance, and Inside Out Youth Services — gathered at the Capitol last week to formally launch their campaign against 109 and 110. The piece from Colorado Politics also has some interesting quotes from both sides, including the One Colorado director raising concerns about how vaguely the measures are written. Sharing for anyone who wants to follow the organizing on this

what are we actually doing about this

i keep doom scrolling and i need to switch modes. i need to hear from other people here about what they're doing — not in a "have you donated" guilt way, just in a "what's working for you" way.

like. are you texting your representatives. are you donating to any of the state-level fight funds (families not politics in CO, no hate in WA, the AZ coalition). are you showing up to local school board meetings. are you just taking care of yourself and your people right now and that's enough. are you doing mutual aid. are you writing. are you archiving. are you staying in touch with your trans friends more than usual.

i think we need to hear from each other right now. not the news, not the think pieces. each other.

what's everyone doing

Two anti-trans ballot measures will appear on 2026 Colorado ballot

Title: Two anti-trans ballot measures will appear on 2026 Colorado ballot
Body: Sharing this since it's likely going to be a big part of the November conversation locally. The piece from Colorado Newsline lays out both measures — 109 (sports) and 110 (gender-affirming surgical procedures for minors) — and notes that neither of Colorado's two major pediatric hospitals currently perform gender-affirming surgeries on minors. Worth a read before opinions start flying this fall. What are folks' initial thoughts?

Two Colorado moms, two very different views on the trans ballot measures

CPR did a profile piece on Erin Lee (the Wellington mom leading Protect Kids Colorado) and Catherine Lindsey (a Denver mom speaking out against the measures with Families Not Politics). It's a thoughtful read that lays out both perspectives without taking a side. Lee's section includes background on how she got involved, and Lindsey talks about her daughter's experience transitioning as a teenager more than a decade ago. Sharing because this is the kind of piece that helps understand where the other side is coming from.
