Prophet Yunus and the whale
Saw this video and it reminded me of the story of Yunus;
Yunus (Jonah) is remembered in the Quran as a prophet who became overwhelmed with his people and left before Allah commanded him to do so. After departing by ship, he was cast into the sea and swallowed by a great fish by the decree of Allah.
In the darkness of the sea and the belly of the fish, Yunus realized his error and turned back to Allah in sincere repentance, making one of the most famous supplications in the Quran: “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers” (Qur’an 21:87). Allah then accepted his repentance and delivered him safely: “So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers” (21:88).
Another passage states: “Had he not been of those who exalt Allah, he would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected” (37:143–144). After being cast upon the shore weak and ill, Allah caused a plant to grow over him for shade and restoration, then sent him back to his people, who afterward believed and were granted mercy (37:145–148).
