[NSFL] [Dead Bodies] I purchased a collection of vintage and antique photos on eBay ... These pictures were included. Is this a concentration camp liberation photo?

I sell vintage and antique photos/post cards/ephemera on eBay. Usually I go to estate sales or antique malls for my inventory but occasionally I'll buy photo lots on eBay and pull out the ones I think are good enough to sell on their own.

As I was flipping through family photos, portraits, vacation pics, etcetera, I came across this group.

They're all roughly the same size and age, with deckle edging.

Most of them are group photos of soldiers with writing on the back.

* Regensburg Germany, Dec 8, 1945

* Epitabat, France (no date, and Google says this isn't a real place)

* Lohn?, Germany

Then there is the last picture of emaciated corpses stacked four or five high against a building. There is no writing in the back of the photo with corpses, so I don't know when it might have been taken, or where.

The deckled edging makes me believe these are original pictures from a soldier's private collection. Is that likely? or is this a reprint of a known photograph?

Just looking for more information about it, and whether or not I have something of significance here. I obviously will NOT be selling it on ebay, but throwing it away also seems like a poor choice, especially if it's a historically important photo.

.... I found a photo of a lot of bodies from WW2.... What do I do with it....?

I didn't post the image because it's obviously NSFL ...

But I bought 400+ pictures in a sale on ebay. In it were a group of pictures of US soldiers in WW2 Europe. Regensburg, Germany... Cologne I think the writing says? Epitabat, France. Just a group of men hanging around, posing for the camera. All of these images have deckle edges.

There is another with the same deckle... Same aging/toning... A pile of bodies. Naked, very skinny. Piled high next to a building. Dozens, maybe hundreds. No writing on the back of this one.

I was NOT expecting to see a huge pile of bodies when I was flipping through Sarah's first grade photos from 1954....

I usually list cool old photos on eBay, but I have no idea what to do here. I obviously don't want to keep it.

The same person enjoying the great outdoors decades apart

Found these photos in a large lot. There are many family photos in the group, a lot of them bearing the name "Clarence." This is him after hunting as a boy, and fishing as an adult.

I recently stumbled into ephemera and old photos. It's such a cool feeling to see glimpses into this person's life.

My dad is at Harris hospital in Fort Worth. I literally stopped in my track when I saw this on the wall of honor.

Help me date this...

I found this in a junk pile at a resale shop, and I'm trying to figure out how old this lighter is. Is it Korean war era? Or did the owner engrave this on a later model lighter?

I've googled the patent number and I've been getting mixed results.

I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Cheap void fill at Home Depot

Picked this up for about $3.50, found in the paint section. 8" x 180 feet. There are bigger/wider rolls there, but I mainly ship smalls so this is perfect for me.

I'm sure there are cheaper sources online, but in a pinch this was perfect. And MUCH cheaper than the packing paper you find in the shipping area at stores.

Grateful for the extra income flipping has provided.

Yesterday I had to make an emergency vet trip. Cat has been rapidly losing weight, wanted to make sure everything was ok. The vet feared cancer so wanted to do blood work and x rays. That, plus the medicine came $600.

(Not cancer yet, btw. More blood work needed).

Today, I got my eBay deposit for $320. Tomorrow $200 more is coming.

Because of flipping, I had the extra money to take care of my cat without worrying about bills. This is why I flip.

What is this military bag?

I bought it from a yard sale with other miscellaneous military stuff.

It's 7 feet long with three handles on each side of the bag. No markings on the zipper, no tags inside. It's a thin material, kind of like a windbreaker. Not thick heavy canvas.

Question about selling a military item

I went to a yard sale last weekend and this guy was selling a box of various military items. A canteen cover, some sort of replacement backpack harness and two large bags.

It looks like it may be military surplus stuff rather than actual gear worn/used by a soldier, but I can't be certain either way.

I got home and inspected the bags. One of them looks like a body bag,.. it's 7 feet long with three handles on each side. It is a thinner material - not heavy canvas - so I thought maybe it was something like a sleeping bag cover. But the general shape and the 6 handles are throwing me off. Gonna have to do more research before I list that one.

The second one is a shoulder/duffel bag. This one is a thicker canvas material with obvious signs of use. The problem is it has what looks like a social security number written on it in faded sharpie.

My initial thought was to return it to the guy who sold it - not for a refund or anything, just give it back... Surely he wouldn't have just sold it if he knew there was a social written on it. But I can't remember exactly where I bought it from, because I went to so many sales that day.

Donating it would be the same as selling it - giving the social security number to a random stranger for free.

It's a cool bag, and I don't want to scribble all over it with sharpie to block the numbers either.

I can't/don't want to keep it. So should I just throw it away or burn it?

What would you do?

Well ... I got my first payment dispute... Now what?

I like to think I'm fairly knowledgeable about selling on eBay, but this is definitely a first. I've been selling since 2010 and I just got my first payment dispute. I guess that means I'm pretty lucky so far...

The buyer said they didn't recognize the charge. ($90 item)

I printed the shipping label straight from the order screen, packaged and shipped on time.

The tracking shows delivered, and that the item was picked up from the post office June 29 at 11:40am.

So I put the tracking number in the dispute, as well a screenshot from the USPS website showing the item was picked up.

Now it says the dispute will last 2 to 8 weeks until there's a resolution...

What's the usual outcome on these things? That's a long time for funds to be held...
