cp-e xFlex to Vibra-Technics Fast Road RMM install question

I installed the cp-e xFlex a few years ago and would like to change to the Vibra-Technics mount. I vaguely recall that the cp-e mounted using its own bracket, so the OEM bracket was removed. When I install the Vibra-technics RMM, will I need any parts besides the RMM and bracket? All I have are the parts in the pic--am I missing any brackets or bolts/nuts? Thanks!

How to home rotary axis with limit switch?

I'm in the early stages of designing a 5 axis CNC with the A & B axes having infinite rotational range. I'm looking at the E5X MCS for control. It has limit inputs for all 6 axes, but for a system with infinite rotational travel, can you use a limit input for home sensing and also have it not trigger the limits?

I know that most OTS rotary axes have no limits and rely on the user to manually home them, but I'd like something more automated and repeatable. Thanks!

I recently signed a lease on an office space and I asked the management to remove the old carpet thinking that underneath would just be concrete and some carpet glue. Welp, it looks like a mishmash of concrete, some wood (?), vinyl tile, and some kind of white compound.

For fear of potential asbestos in the tile/mastic, I'm considering leaving the tile in place (which is about 1/8" higher than the concrete), with that white compound easing the difference in height). I can also have the tile removed, but it's unclear what is underneath.

This will be the workspace for my solo engineering company, so

  • it ain't gotta win any beauty contests (the background in image 1 is good enough)
  • it needs to be cheap ($5/sqft installed or easy enough to do DIY)
  • it needs to be durable enough to drag boltless shelving across it without fear of too much damage, but I don't expect to be here for more than 2 years.

Some ideas I have that I have no idea would work:

  • skim coating with ??? and applying ??? to seal
  • epoxy or polyurea/polyaspartic coatings (not sure how expensive that is)
  • vinyl flooring

I'd love to hear any recommendations. Total square footage is about 580 sqft. Thanks!

I have a ton of these 18"x36"x72" boltless shelving units with particle board planks. They're great, but the particle board is hard to keep dust-free...it snags when you wipe it with a rag, and brushing it only moves the dust. I'm wondering if anyone has any good ideas on what I can cover the planks with. I literally have 100+ planks so I'm looking for something that's inexpensive (<$0.50/sqft), durable, thin (so it doesn't eat up into shelf space), easy to apply, and easy to trim (or not needing trimming at all). Aesthetics are secondary, but something light colored would be nice.

Some ideas I'm considering:

  • Con-tact paper - this is the thinnest option, but I don't think it would be durable enough.
  • Vinyl tile - it looks like 2mm thick tile would work great, and 18"x18" tile would be very easy to apply
  • Vinyl flooring - this will be cheaper than tile, but maybe a PITA to adhere and trim to size
  • Paint - if I have time to knock this out for all shelves in one go, this might work, but if I have to do this project piecemeal, this will be a messy and time-consuming pain

Are there any other options I should consider? Thanks!

I'm in the middle of moving my engineering business and am anticipating another move in 12 months, so I can't justify the costs of riggers and electricians to move my Bridgeport + Anilam CNC twice. This setup is overkill for my needs, so...I'm looking for an alternative that has similar(ish) accuracy, but a smaller footprint and less ooomph. Here's what I'm looking for:

  • 110VAC
  • 3 axes of CNC (I don't think 2.5 will work since I hope to take on some thread milling)
  • &gt;12" x 8" (300mm x 200mm) work area
  • Enough Z-travel to mount a Kurt vise if possible (4"/100mm?)
  • Fixed bed (preferably metal)
  • Closed loop motion
  • Capable of machining plastics, aluminum, and brass
  • No liquid cooling necessary
  • Either open or enclosed is fine
  • Plus for having a pendant or console with basic jog functions

The Genmitsu 4040-PRO MAX (with aluminum/MDF bed upgrade) seems like a close fit but I'd love to hear y'all's recommendations. I'm trying to stay under $2k.
