Stuff I Saw At The AM Yesterday.

I saw some brands I've never seen before. If you know anything, please let us all know. This AM is the only one that I've been to that doesn't have a In-Store Bakery or a Hot Food section. Every other AM I have went to here has had at least a Baked Goods section. And all have had Hot Food.

The last pic, these noodles make me wonder is they are "Beef Seasoned", or are there sachets.

They had Shin Red for $5 a 4pk. And Kang Shi Fu mid tier line for $4 a 5pk.

CarPlay Connecting To Honda Audio Playback Only

iPhone 17 Pro, Civic Sport Touring '22

On a drive and stopped at gas station for road snacks. Was listening to CP. Got in car, turned on car, No CP. Reset everything, BT, delete device, priority device, off BT, car off/on, Siri off/on, soft/hard reset of iPhone, restart car, Apple USB-C cable used in both ports, it used to connect to CP without having to plug in. If the phone was in the car, it auto-connected to CP, etc. I googled in parking lot. Did all that. And still no go. Go thru prompts to connect to CP. I click to use CP. Phone says Honda Connected. Only now, music plays thru the Honda Music app on screen. Every setting in the phone is set to what it should be for CP to connect and work. Every setting in the head unit is set to what it should be for CP. Even though it says it's connected to CP. There is no CP icon on the head unit home page. And no CP icons for Maps, Music, Messages, etc on the left side where they should be.

Is there a way to turn the Honda music player off. As to force it to connect to CP? I'm going on a Month long road trip and I need my CP for music and nav. What to do?

Mr Carlson Lab Says: The Best Cable - Wire For Audio? Let's Look Closer!

I love this dude. I watch him all the time. I'd say he's right. I've seen post and pages of a few 'philes using this. But, I Always thought it was for budget reasons. All they had/afford. etc.

But he says it measure super good and fully shielded. And, who doesn't have a few of these in your cable stash? It's be kinda hard to use as Interconnects. It's so stiff you'd have to use R.Angle connectors.

Would you use it, have you? As for me, I'd say I would, But. Some years ago a cable supplier was having a super sale. So I bought a few hundred of feet of W2534, W2549, W2497, etc. and a few bags of Rean and Neutrik connectors.

I was at one of my local AM the other day and saw these. I've never seen them before. Has anyone tried them yet?

NOCS: Need To Get Strapped And Wrapped

I ordered a NOC Field Issue 8x42 and it comes in a Microfiber bag. Is there a Soft or Semi Rigid case for them? So I can throw it in my pack and not have to worry if it jostles around. And a comfy strap too. As reviewers don't seem to like the stock strap.

Space Battleship Yamato: First Timer Looking For Guidance

I'm not a "First Timer" to Anime, only to SBY.

I'm trying to figure the series out I want to watch the Main Story line only. No spinoffs, one-off movies, prequel or sequels that have nothing to do with the main story.

The websites I look at throw everything SBY at me. I would like to watch the original series and ova. Also any remake of the original series and remakes of the ova.

So, out of all that is SBY, what should I watch and in what order. I've never seen anything SBY, but it interest me greatly. TIA

Ramen Thoughts: Kang Shi Fu Braised Artificial Beef Flavor

I finally got to this. Been seeing it in the store forever. But, the brand wasn't my G2. So I paid it and the line as a whole no mind. I had been into their Mid-Tier line. Which has the white wrapper with different colored stripes.

After hearing too many times that KSF is the biggest ramen company in China. And that Braised Artificial Beef is their biggest sellers. I finally dived in. This is a really good Beef Ramen.

Cooked Per: Cooked Up, Bowled Up!

It looked and smelled good. The carrots had a little crunch. The little soy balls had not a bad taste. I just can't describe it. Scallion too.

It seemed like the cake is different than the white wrapper line. It had a good wheaty flavor. It didn't get mushy or swell up in the bowl. Good mouth feel for sure.

And, to the broth. It had a great taste. A solid beef flavor. Not a kinda, sorta thing. The broth is slurpable for sure. The mouthfeel was that of beef soup that has that fat sheen on top. It had that going for it and tasted richer than a standard beef ramen. Only a "Premium" or Marutail style ramen pack could beat it. My G2 for beef right now is JML Artificial Spicy Beef. And it will stay there. As it has some heat.

The KSF Beef has no heat or spice notes. nor does it need it. The beef flavor stands on its own. This will be joining my beef group of G2-Beef. The JML, Shin Black Bone Broth, and now this.

If you see this, but, have never tried it. Get some for sure. I think I paid $3.99?

I liked this. I do enjoy this line. It's good, basic ramen. Cheap in price, but better than you'd expect. It does have a definite "Seafood" flavor which I liked. The base has Shrimp and Scallop, MSG. And some other additives. The Sauce is Sardines, MSG, Sesame Oil, Shrimp. Well, it taste fishy and smells it too. But in a good way.

Cooked Per: Cooked Up, Bowled Up.

Their cake seems to be their standard one for this line. The amount of veggies is too. it taste like fish soup w/noodles. I could def taste the sesame oil and the fish cake, I think it said it was cod? I should have tried one individually. I don't eat seafood ramen that often. So buying fishcakes at a AM would be impractical for me.

This ramen is a great place to start if you want to try a "Seafood" flavor other than Maruchan/Top Ramen Shrimp flavors. A def step up for sure. With the broth being good, a great way to throw in some frozen shrimp or some real fish even. Or some shredded Nori and Mae Ploy Red Curry Paste would really hook this up. Plus your favorite greens too.
