My coworker is a creep and my managers will not do anything.

He’s always just staring at me, out of the corner of my eye. And when I accidentally meet his gaze he smiles in this… unusual creepy way. He also gets way way way too close to me. Instead of asking me to move he just goes and does and grabs whatever he needs to while I work there. He also likes to be in the same room as me at all times, and I do feel like he likes to check me out because he always tries to work on something while behind me, and when I look over my shoulder, he’s staring, smiling. He likes to get way to close to me also, like, inches. I have to take steps back, to which he takes steps forward. It’s very uncomfortable. I went to my managers after he cornered me to talk to me. They told me they couldn’t do anything about it because of his disability and that he didn’t know any better. I also went on break at the same time as him once (never again) and as I was eating my banana, he started breathing heavily and doing this weird laugh while looking at me.

Thinking about applying to staples…

Should I? I’m a tad bit worried because there are several positions open at my local location and that kind of gives me red flags… 🫠 the customer returns and shipping sounds fun though…

My coworker got fired

And I immediately felt relief hearing that they did. I know this is gonna sound horrible, but working with them every shift drained me so bad. They gave me such awful vibes. Customers complained about them. They had issues with calling out. Finally. I feel free. I feel like I don’t have to babysit anymore.

ISO iridescent fabrics

Trying to make a lanyard and I want some iridescent fabric. If anyone has some they aren’t using, name your price. I’m not looking for that stretched stuff either with the fish scales.

Kind of a happy vent for me ig

I was a tad bit skeptical of vinted but, I’ve been making more sales on Vinted then Depop. I’m trying to sell items I no longer want to pay down my student and medical debt and I am making some money so I am quite happy. :))

I think I dodged a bullet but I’m also frustrated af.

Last year I worked at Spirit Halloween and somewhat enjoyed it. The only thing unenjoyable about it was the district manager. She was super shady af and was messing with our money towards the end, yet somehow she’s still a DM. 🫩

I re-applied this year, have been waiting to hear something back. Heard nothing back, went to check talentreef and… “Position Closed.” If this is rejection, I would’ve rather just been straight up rejected rather than not being told anything at all??? I never got an email or an update or a text, nothing. I hate shady people that move weird. So fucking annoying. I hope she gets the worst team ever.

I am so tired of customers and the squishy dumplings

Limit of 5, not bring two boxes of 12 up. We literally had to ban a lady from buying more dumplings because she came in several times and bought 50+ dumplings. Then the kids that sit there and break them open till they find the ones they want while their parents stand there and text whoever. Then the attitude because “I HaVe 8 GrAnDcHilDrEn” and? Thats not my problem. I could be risking my job because our LP guy is ALWAYS checking everything. So.. anyways I can’t wait for the squishy dumpling trend to be over! 😀

You have to sign up to get the deals.

This week we were having a week dedicated to our store. 15%-25% off. In order to get the deal you have to be a member, and it’s not a credit card it’s just a free rewards card.

This ghetto ass couple comes up to my register and I’m like: “OMG HI!! ☺️☺️ what’s a good phone number for you” and they are like “we’re not in there.” I said “you can save 15% if you sign up-“ “NO! We don’t want to give out our personal information” “Oh- 🙂 okay. 🙃” I scanned all their stuff, gave them their total, didn’t give them the deal because they weren’t members, they paid.

5 minutes later.

“Ummm… signs around your store say 15% to 25% off. My receipt doesn’t match that”.

“Ma’am… you didn’t want to sign up.”

“You didn’t ask me!”

👀 be so for real rn

“I can get you signed up right now if you’d like. 😀”

“NO NO! It’s too late now” stomps out of store like a grown toddler

“Okay 😀 have a great day ma’am”

Coworker looks at me “I literally heard you ask her if she wanted to sign up and heard her say no”

🙃 people enrage me.

I wish I could tell my coworker to shut the fuck up

Unfortunately, without being fired, I cannot do this. BUT

This chick does not know how to stop talking. We will have a huge line and she will still be with the same customers after I’ve gotten through some of the line. I’m not talking 3-5 people, I’m talking line wrapping and going to the middle of the store line. We just started a sale today, and with it being a Saturday (now Sunday), it was busy AS FUCK. I saw this chick was on the schedule and I immediately dreaded it, because I know how she is. Now I’m not discouraging workers from talking while checking customers out, but there is a time, and there is a place, especially when the line is LONG as FUCK. I literally was like “okay, [insert Ms. talky talks name here], can you call the next customer” “but I’m still talking to this one.” 🙂🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 the customer looks at me and goes “you’re doing great, keep up the hard work” like, great, thank you, but this doesn’t help me get the line down. Sometimes she also talks about the most inappropriate stuff, like she has no filter. I literally just, UGH. I just can’t 😭

I hope this customer get what he deserves.

The transaction started out fine until I asked this man to sign up with our rewards program (it’s not a credit card) and he said yes.

What’s your email? “Oh it’s XYZ@whateverwhatever./com”

And your phone number? “Do I have to give it to you?”

Yes. “Well I’d rather give it to your pretty coworker over there! “

🫩

Anyways, so I filled the rest of it out. My coworker who he had been referring to earlier was just leaving for her break and as she’s trying to leave he looks at her and goes “look at her, representing the company!” To which I said i believe i represent the company just fine, as I am in dress code and got my company vest on. Then he said “well, maybe if you were skinnier you’d represent the company even better” fucking excuse me?? 🙃🙃🙃🙃 “sir, if you’re calling me fat, I don’t need you to tell me something I already know.” “Maybe if you’d be considerate of yourself and the company, you’d lose some weight. You got the face but…ehhhhh, not the body.” I quickly checked him out. Then he just kept going and going and going, talking about my weight and how it didn’t fit the company. I wish I knew if I was allowed to deny service because this man stood there forever and I didn’t know if I could do anything but I’m feeling pretty cruddy because of him.

Might get hate for this

About to put in my one week notice. My old job took me back and it’s better pay, better hours. The job I’m currently at has screwed me repeatedly. Well, I know it’s not good but I’m screwing them back by putting in my one week notice. 🤷🏼‍♀️ fuck em.

Should I listen to my manager on this or shrug it off?

I was coming back from a short break when my manager stopped me and told me I need to stop talking so much when checking people out and that it’s slowing me down. The thing I’m confused about is (so context - were timed on checking people out) my percentage on checking people out is much higher then hers and it has been for weeks (according to each report that comes out. There’s always a 10% different between us.) so should I listen to him or ignore it?

Question

Is it a good time to start looking for different jobs when your job leaves you sobbing for hours and hours after leaving for the day.

My manager keeps dangling opportunities in front of me

I’m genuinely feeling so frustrated. He says he “respects me”. I don’t feel respected at all. He keeps dangling promotions in front of me and then taking them away when i bring them up. He keeps putting me in places I don’t enjoy and feel under valued in.

A weird customer review…

So I have a till that’s about hip height so when I close it I bump my hip into the till and it closes it. Well, apparently a customer thought it was “inappropriate” because it “turned him on” ew wtf???? 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 I hope he gets banned.

When I entered my job, I entered as part time. Now they want to make me full time, but I’m worried if they make me full time, I won’t be able to cover shifts or come in on my days off to help out when someone calls off. The reason they want to make me full time is due to me showing up when no one else could and really working hard. I feel I should stay part time so I can keep doing that. (I have open availability btw)

I had a lady come through my line today who was very nice. We began talking about one of my favorite movies (the devil wears Prada) as I was scanning her items. She sets this glass vase on the counter. She’s telling me how it’s the last one and it’s perfect. I scan and wrap and as I go to bag, the glass vase broke through the wrap and shattered on the floor. Due to trauma from my parents growing up, I immediately started to cry and apologize profusely. She didn’t care about the vase in that moment. She reached over the counter and hugged me and wiped my tears. She still wanted the vase and I gave her a huge discount on it. She said it was easily repairable, which I mean, a triangular shaped peace was the only piece that came off. I still felt so so bad but she was really chill about it. I felt embarrassed for crying but when the vase broke all I could think of was what happened if I accidentally broke something as a kid and what my parents would do. She knew it was an accident, which was nice because it genuinely was. (Some of these customers are brutal, not saying this about the lady tonight, but there’s that one customer that would’ve lost their shit)
