Thanks Sainsbury's
Just got these in substitution for my normal milk. Back says "May contain other cereals containing gluten" So I assume these are a no no. Sadly no one else in the house takes milk in their drinks so this is wasted here.

My local plant shop is offering Stephania erecta for sale. They had four for £33 each. I asked them the origin over Instagram and they never got back. I'd love to buy one but I don't want to promote poached plants. Do you think these could be seed grown? I'm in the UK if that makes anything difference. Cheers!
Could you good people please talk me through what should be happening next with my coeliac diagnosis, as reading posts on this subreddit it looks like there's a lot that the GP missed out.
My 31F for the last nine months I've had unexplained frequent violent vomiting during or after eating, unexplained folic acid deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency and anemia.
I've had a crazy number of tests, I'll try to remember them all: thyroid function, kidney, liver, pancreas function, tested for diabetes, tested cholesterol levels, give a stool sample for gut health, had to monitor my blood pressure for six weeks, blood test for white blood cell count, multiple pregnancy tests (doctor was convinced this was it for months), I've had an MRI and x-rays.
FINALLY a different GP had the bright idea of giving me a coeliac blood test and dun dun dun! It was positive. I've seen people here talk about a number attached to their test, I wasn't told any number just that it was positive. I was told I needed to keep eating gluten and wait three months for another blood test. I really tried but I was starting to fall behind at work so I demanded that they go straight to the endoscopy.
I had the endocopy (which was a total saga I'm obese and ginger and they didn't give me enough sedation so apparently I completely freaked out and started fighting everyone) but after more sedation they took 13 biopsies, said that they couldn't see anything but I had an "errodied esophagus".
My GP says I have to wait until October to get the biopsy results to be formally diagnosed with coeliac but in the meantime I can go gluten free. I'm six weeks gluten free now and the vomiting is much better, however now I have constant diarrhoea which I never had before? Someone on here kindly pointed out that I need to be diary free also at least to begin with. Since cutting the diary too my stools are slowly getting better formed.
I'm seeing people here talk about getting tested for other autoimmune issues, getting tested for deficiencies, speaking to a nutritionist. Will all of this happen after I'm formally diagnosed? I can't believe my GP didn't mention diary, she just said "go gluten free, you know what things contain gluten right? Bread and pasta so don't eat them. Good luck". Thank God for all the great information online I had to find out about cross contamination myself. All this makes me think that my GP doesn't know much about coeliac so I'm hoping other people could please tell me what she should be doing if my biopsies come back positive. I'm in Scotland if that makes anything different. Thanks!
This is my fifth week of being gluten free after my endocopy. Before cutting out gluten my symptom was vomiting once or twice a week and having B vitamin deficiencies.
Since stopping gluten I've only vomiting once and feel much better in general. However I have had two big reactions that have really confused me.
Once was making my husband a sandwich. I made it, washed my hands with soap and warm water, washed under my nails and up my arms. Ten minutes late I had a bowl of GF cereal and immediately got a headache and felt sick and dizzy.
Second was tonight I made burritos. I wore gloves while plating the non gluten wraps and washed my hands before moving onto mine. However I might have double dipped into the grated cheese? Immediately after I started eating I had terrible stomach pain and ran to the toilet.
Both times I can't imagine that I ingested gluten certainly not in a significant amount. Are we just not able to even touch gluten?
I am very uptight about smelling good. Growing up I had a fat aunt who probably had extreme chronic yeast infections and BV. My (skinny) Mum shamed her for it and constantly told me that all fat women smell and if I didn't lose weight I'd end up smelling too.
Years later I learnt about intertrigo and learnt how to effectively manage it and I very rarely have a problem. Until this week! There's a heatwave in the UK at the moment and I ran out of talc. I was in LUSH so I thought I'd pick up one of their "dusting powders" in the scent Sticky Dates. And now I have the smelliest most painful intertrigo I have ever experienced!
I didn't realise that the ingredients are tapioca starch, corn starch and natural SUGARS!! I might as well have put icing sugar in my folds. Be careful folks!
Just wanted to commiserate. Today is my second day being gluten free and I've already messed up! I usually do a big batch cook every Friday. So I've spent the day preparing to cook my first gluten free meal (yesterday I only ate ready made).
I've scrubbed my whole kitchen, I've bought new utensils and pans, I've rearranged my cupboards and fridge. I thought I'd start easy: chilli con carne. How can I go wrong with that? Onions, peppers, mince, kidney beans, tomato sauce. Everything was cooked, enough for seven family dinners and I go to add the final touch - Coleman's Chilli Mix.
I pour it in, give it a stir and chuck the empty packet in the bin. Then the wee voice in my head says "wait did you check the ingredients"? So I'm fishing it out of the bin and low and behold WHEAT and RYE. I've just ruined seven nights worth of dinners!!! My husband will just have to eat them all by himself and I'll be in the corner nibbling on cheese and manically laughing.
Just wondering if anyone could tell anything about the opals in my ring. The ring itself is hallmarked for Birmingham 1918 and it's 18ct gold. Photographed when a sunbeam hit it just perfectly. Wondering where the opals are from and are they as old as the setting they are in? Cheers
