Are there any countries that have self-employment/contracting visas that count toward permanent residency requirements?
There are many countries that have "digital nomad" visas but they're for temporary stays by design, so they don't count toward PR years. Given the subreddit we're in, I'm looking for something that gives me a permanent chance of escape. I have the option to work as an independent contractor so I am wondering what choices for countries I have. Ideally looking to hear from people who have actually done it themselves, or know a lot about the process for the given country.
Why aren't there high tannin white wines?
Is there a reason other than "it tastes bad"? Could you have the juice sit in the seed/skin for weeks like red wine does and end up with a similar effect?
How does this ceiling stay up?

Am I not looking at rows of bricks and mortar used as a ceiling? If not, what is the actual ceiling construction here?
What is the Muslim equivalent to bringing a bottle of wine to a dinner party?
Bottle of wine: Generic inoffensive gift that the guests bring to a host's dinner party. Maybe $30+ depending on how fancy of an occasion it is. It's the standard social expectation when the guests are not supposed to bring food.
So if you are coming to a dinner party, what is the most standard gift thing that gets brought? Where no one would be amazed that you brought it, but not offended either. I'm not going to one myself, nor am I Muslim, I've just had this question in my head for awhile.
Can laser hair removal be done in the unibrow and temple area? How precise is the procedure?
I ask about precision for 2 reason:
Safety, is it safe to do that area? Any risk of going blind?
I don't want too much hair to be removed. I don't want a manicured look. Just stray hairs in my unibrow and temples to be removed.
Has anyone had to get a new job while already living abroad? How did the job search go?
I am currently working abroad for an American company. I've been there for years and have established myself as reliable. They're very flexible and low in bureaucracy so they were fine with me working outside of the country indefinitely. My new location is fine with it too.
The problem is if I ever get laid off, I lose this entire setup. It's a pretty fragile position to be in while I'm waiting for permanent residency which is still years away. Of course I could get a job in the new country but that would be a substantial paycut and I'd have to do visa reclassifications etc. So for the people who had to find a new job while abroad, how did the search go? I'm guessing it would be way harder than searching while actually living in America.
For people who use the Impatriati Regime, are your social security taxes also included in the 50% reduction? Or is it only income tax?
It seems like every article I read contradicts the other. For people who have actually done taxes, were you able to include social security in the 50% reduction?
Edit: Important note, I am freelancing.
