How many of you ever got your guitars repainted?

Given that we have about a tenth of the choice of colours that righty's get, has anyone ever had this done? Good results?

I'm almost buying a bright yellow RG550 but honestly the colour doesn't inspire me (the older more pale/sun yellow is BEAUTIFUL, I wish that was the colour Ibanez was doing).

I wouldn't do it straight away as the guitar is expensive enough as it is and I'd likely change the pickups like I always do.

I'm UK based if that matters.

What cab for my DSL20HR?

Hi,

I currently have a Peavey 112-6 with a Greenback in it. Sounds great. I'm looking at three options -

Marshall SC212. Id get used. Gets praised a decent amount. Celestion V Type.

Harley Benton G212. Cheap as chips with V30s. Would have to wait for Thomann to stock more, a month or so which is no bother.

Harley Benton 2x12 vertical with Greenbacks. Second hand one for sale very near me.

Or a second Peavey 112-6.

Obviously the slanted vertical 2x12s will be more aesthetically pleasing and only lugging around one (heavier) speaker and not two.

Don't want to spend more than £3-400. Massive preference for vertical and slanted even better. This is for hard rock/metal (80s).

Thanks!

Edit: added an option I just found.

I got auto-filled top

And it went surprisingly well. I just love this little blue and black wizard so I thought why not. Was into Yasuo so it was a tad tricky. I've now played five top games in a row and won them all quite convincingly. Aatrox, Fiora were two others. Starting a game now vs Tryn so let's see how that goes.

This is Gold V so by no means that high level (I fell from G1 recently! Argh).

The enemy certainly doesn't expect it and the bruiser champs don't know what to do.

Anyone else tried ti and how did it go?

Help me find a tube head for small gigs UK

Hi,

At the moment I have a DSL1H and a Peavey 1x12 with Greenbacks. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy another one of those Peaveys (rather than sell and buy a 2x12, can't be arsed and I think it could be nice to have two separate cabs). But I definitely need a bigger head as I've just started playing in an 80s rock and metal cover band. Tbh the head I have kept up with our drummer in rehearsal, with volume on around noon, but the sound wasn't the best.

Over a decade ago I had a DSL50 that I really liked, but they seem to be quite hard to find and also rather expensive. Although I may just go for one of those as well unless there's something else I'm missing? I know I like Marshall. I don't really want to fanny around with pedals too much - just standard wah, TS9, some reverb.

Don't really want to go over £4-500 as the cab will also be a few hundred too.

Thanks !

Ibanez AZ Series

I swear I remember seeing more than just two colours. It's such a shame we always get the most boring colours. Sunburst and a horrific green are our choices for this wonderful-looking guitar.

Anyone else had any luck sourcing another colour? I reeeeally want one (also own a Charvel DK24 and an ancient Ibanez RG1570 (that I love)).

I have a DSL1HR - took it to band practice

And completely forgot that there is a "Low power" switch on the back of it to turn it from 1W to 0.1W.

I had my amp turned up to 10 and was a little embarassed when it couldn't be heard over the bass and drums. Had to plug into a Marshall MG combo that was laying in the corner of the practice room.

I'd been using it at home for so long and had been a while since playing in a band that I had completely forgotten about the switch.

This is with a Peavey 1x12 cab btw.

I was worried I'd be needing to buy another head and/or cab! Doh.

Is there a way to do this to avoid fees?

Hi,

Hope this is the right sub for this.

Long story short, wife and I have found a car, and we’ve put a deposit down of £200.

Car costs £12,700.

We’ve agreed to pay £8,000 cash (£5,000 of that a 36-month personal loan) and then £4,700 on a 0% purchase credit card (15-month period).

The slight problem is that we want to close this out by Saturday, but only did the 0% card application on Saturday evening (after viewing the car). That was a bit silly in hindsight but we wanted to max the 0% period and have been looking for cars for ages.

Anyway, if the card doesn’t arrive, the only thing I can think of is putting the £4.7k on my normal CC, and then transferring that balance to the new card when it does arrive, but that’ll incur a £160 fee. Not the end of the world, still destroys the finance the dealership are offering (which is horrendous btw).

AI recommended I ask the dealership if we can part-pay and then wait for the 0% CC to arrive then finish paying.

Any avenues I’m missing? Would really like the car asap.

Been playing every night for the last week, after the best 80/90s metal and rock tones. Even after a lot of EQ'ing, I've found that Nolly and Soldano sound the best, but it's tough as Nolly has probably better crunch and cleans, and it's easier to switch between.

This is my first real go with plugins. I only want to really buy one. I loved playing the synth on Rabea's one. Petrucci, Gojira and Rabea's distortion sounded kind of scooped though. Even pushing the mids up. Soldano definitely wins there. Nolly almost there too.

They're too similar to buy more than one though. I think it has to be Soldano now though, just to get started...

What ones are you lot going for and what are you playing?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone would kindly share their current, past or trajected timeline for FLP?

I'm hoping to onboard with Astranti in a month's time, to take advantage of being able to do a case study in May-27 (OCS, perhaps MCS is too ambitious?). This the the meaning for my post really. Could I realistically hope to complete everything in two years? Is that doable?

I've been working as an Accounts Assistant for six years now - AP, AR, Quarter closes, journal entries, bit of VAT work, bit of budgeting and forecasting, reconciling etc. Hoping that at least some of this work experience will help with some of the material.

But I also wanted to ask about hours of study a week you're putting in. A conversation with Astranti revealed 12-15 hours a week. 15 would be tough for me with a toddler and full time job but I need to get qualified. Wondering if it could be less on a normal week and then 15-20 on the weeks leading up to a case study exam? So they take an average?

Interested to hear people's responses. Thanks.
