Help! Do I water or wait?

So I got this baby about a week ago. I repotted it and just filled in with some my soil to fill in the pot. I let it get acclimated to new pot with no water. I’ve ruined these to over watering in the past so I am trying to be VERY careful. It sits on a east facing window with some filtered afternoon sun cause my window is half blocked by a giant rubber tree. So I think the lighting is on point for now.

I did the stick test to test soil in few different places and it comes out like in the picture. And some up close photos of the pearls. They have slits and look plump, but they dont look shriveled up and pruny, so not sure if to water or not.

Are there experts here who can let me know if I should keep waiting or give its first drink?

Need advice

I have a landlord in a single family house where I rent with another person. Landlord is pretty hands off. Our refrigerator has stopped working over 2 months ago. Roommate basically waited long enough until I took action and does not want to deal with our maintenance guy.

I have been coordinating with maintenance to coordinate install. Constant follow ups for updates on time/delivery. I have now spent 2-4 hrs on it.

Am I unreasonable to invoice my landlord for my time/deduct from rent?

Looking for advice

Overall the plant looks healthy, but what does a single yellow leaf mean? I have it couple of inches from an east facing window, the soil is a chunky mix, and the soil has not completely dried out yet.

Bay area drivers noticing this?

People are going 30-50 on the highway. When there is no traffic and the front is open. What is going on? If I get behind them I’m barely going 20. I had to get in the fast lane behind another car also going 65 to get in front of them. It’s like they are purposefully slowing down so people move from being behind them. Why??

What does it mean when people remember you from elementary/high school?

I can barely remember people let alone their names from couple years ago, but on multiple occasions I’ve ran into people who have remembered my me and my name from 10-15 years ago and I have no idea who they are. It’s kind of embarrassing too….

What do you do?

So on multiple occasions I’m having drivers exhibit micro aggression and intentional dangerous moves like changing lanes into mine as I am about to pass them and if i don’t move out of the way its a collision, getting infront of my lane when they see me move over and then slow dow to a crawl, on the highway barely side swiping me to get in front with the whole a large open gap. There’s no traffic, the lane in front is open in front of them and I am on the farthest right lane and not in anyones way or I get out of the way asap.

What is your response when you feel targeted by other drivers? All times I quickly got space and moved away or sped up to get away from them. I’m trying not to crash out snd need advice. Some of these are so close that I genuinely think people want to kill themselves and take me out in the process, even though I do the most to avoid a collision at all cost. It’s kind of hard to see someone’s is calculating a collision and having to be the bigger person. It’s so creepy..I know better than to road rage but wtf?

When people box you in on crowded urban roads— why?

I know this may not be intentional but,—-Like why are riding someone’s blind spot? Why not just gooo, you have the whole way clear in front of you?

How do you get comfortable driving next to cars?

I usually like to have space all around me. It’s hard to be jammed in the tight cluster. Anyone has this problem?

Got an offer!

Don’t give up y’all! I finally got an offer. Here is what worked for me.

  1. for phone interviews/zoom have questions/answers ready to go on your phone and read them, make sure its out of the camera view. They will be busy looking down taking notes anyways.

  2. tailor key words to fit job posts. If they don’t want a degree keep it off.

  3. in-person interviews: try to just listen or ask a non-related work related question to connect with hiring manager/potential co-workers. Be friendly and be curious. Be the student and be impressed by the company and the managers.

Why do you think you are introverted?

Were you always like this or do you think its to other factors like parenting, society, aging, lack of community or resources?

So i have a friend (of 4y) who makes hiring decision for the role that I am looking for and I am qualified for. Is it reasonable for me to think that this connection should at least help me get an interview or am I out of line? People talk about using connections/network, but I’ve been in this position with this friend 2x with 2 different companies and neither time they have helped me in the door when I have specially voiced I’m looking at X role in their company. On top of that when we get together all I hear about is her job/her role/her company….. meanwhile I’m telling her “i’m looking for a job. I saw your company is hiring for this role.” We have event talked about if it would be weird working together and we both agreed it wouldn’t be cause we can fake “not knowing each other” and be professional.

I guess I’m now wondering whether this is actually my friend or a secret hater? Idk— or is this mixing friendship with business?

Anyone been in this position and have insight how to understand this?

Two left turning lanes, and i realized i’m in the wrong one so i signal to let everyone go but they slow down to match my speed and then hang in my blind spot instead of going so I can move over. What’s the best way to move over?
