Sleep?!

I thought the rule was first year they sleep, second they creep, third they leap?! I started these seeds indoors back in February/March sometime, put them in the ground as soon as risk of frost had passed, and wasn’t expecting much this year but holy moly! Is this the norm for black eye Susans?? If so, I’ve got some work to do bc they’re going to need much more room than this!

First of Many Firsts

First year attempting life without my Dad and my newfound hobby that both keeps my mind occupied while making my Mom smile occasionally, cut flowers. First bouquet of the year. ♥️.
I’ve made lots of mistakes along the way but I guess I got some things right. 🙂

Now what?!

I saw a cute little design online where this lady used shower hooks and made a chain trellis for her climbing plants, so I decided to try it. It worked. It’s cute. …but now what do I do?! It’s gotten so big!!

Crossbreed!

I’ve had some pansies hanging on for dear life this year and they’ve crossbred themselves. 🙂

Side note: My Mom, Memaw, and Aunt have all told me for years to pull the pansies when I plant my summer stuff bc that’s what they’ve always been told to do, but I just can’t. If they want to live, I allow them to.

Twisted!

This sunflower got twisted, thanks to a storm we had recently in Arkansas, couldn’t figure out how to untwist herself, so she bloomed instead. Should I cut it?

I have it in a plastic bag, but I found it underneath my couch while rearranging furniture after having had some questionable folks in my house here lately due to a death in our immediate family. I’m not naive. I just wanted to see if yall thought the same.
