In your opinion, who are the funniest 5th gen idols to watch? Particularly ones that aren't even trying to be funny.
Also if you could provide some videos of them being funny, that would be great!

I wonder if I will get more responses posting on here rather than on the larger subreddits. I've been reading lots of complaints about long lines and there being not much to do at the "convention" part of KCON. Also the whole experience being overpriced, but in this economic climate, that is to be expected. Reading these makes me disheartened. How can you mess up a K-pop themed convention in a city with such a strong Asian culture?
The impression that I am getting is that the lines to get into the festival grounds are ridiculously long. And there were apparently wristbands you could purchase to skip the line, but they didn't really speed up the queue. I personally think it is unacceptable to make a whole crowd of people wait outside for 2-3 hours, particularly those who showed up super early. Why has a solution not been found for this after so many years? The venue staff should be prepared for these crowds.
Was it just fan-service? Slightly exaggerated for dramatic effect? They have such a lowly opinion of themselves given all that has happened this year. To be fair, it's hard for them to really know what reaction they will receive when it's their first time performing in the US.
Could be a group that disbanded long ago, could be an active group.
EDIT: Actually, I'm counting festivals as concerts. Apparently SNSD has never done a solo concert in the US.
Who do you think was the most popular girl group in Korea in 2010, 2011, 2012...and so on until 2025? I only started following K-pop closely in 2021, so I'm interested to know what you think. Is there a general consensus? Is there a debate to be had?
Hi mods, please pin this post so everyone can see it! Also if you could set this so new comments are shown first, that would be appreciated!
So, as you know, RESCENE will be a major part of KCON LA this year. I had an idea to make a thread to talk about all our thoughts and ask any questions we may have.
I don't even live in the US, let alone Southern California so I am not able to go there in person. Hopefully the KCON YouTube accounts will allow us to watch some of the girl's appearances on stage!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I want to know how unprecedented it is for any artist to get this level of recognition in Korea.
I know this seems oddly specific, I was just really curious if this applies to more girl groups. And yes, I specifically mean just one Japanese member.
Firstly, I understand why Woni's channel doesn't have subs. They are clearly trying to target the Korean audience with that. But I feel that a K-pop group's official YouTube channel, in the year 2026, should have subs as soon as the video is uploaded (especially English and Japanese). Sorry if this makes me look entitled. Is it financial issues? I guess we should be grateful that the company provides subs at all, even if it is several days late.
I understand that there are financial difficulties with having them at the moment of upload. Is there any small company group that actually has instant subs?
Looking at who views my posts on this sub by country, a lot of you seem to be from the US and Canada (not surprising, it's Reddit). I'm from Melbourne, Australia. How global are we? Maybe you're from a country that essentially gets no K-pop concerts or festivals.
I'll just get the most obvious one out of the way: RESCENE. What do you think?
No one else springs to mind, so I think this is quite rare.
I'm talking about both their music and the girls themselves. I acknowledge that it is difficult to tell exactly how popular they are outside of Korea, given that they have spent most of their time and energy there. I just wanted to get a conversation started. What I will say with the utmost confidence is that for a group from a small company, they are doing amazingly well.
Fan voting accounts for 20% of the final result. Voting is conducted on two apps: BIGC and coogoong. Each app accounts for half of the fan voting score.
I can't believe RESCENE is being nominated with these big names!
What are some dance challenges that made you go, I can't believe these people were in the same place, I can't possibly imagine them interacting, and yet they did. Or combinations that make no sense in theory but ended up being very entertaining.
This is for awareness, and for people refreshing the video waiting for subs!
