Help Figure Spousal Benefit %?

My husband will be 65 next year and will file for Social Security and retire at that time. I will be 64 at the time that he files (I retired a few years ago but have never filed for SS.)

Even at just half of his SS, my benefits would assuredly be less.

If I file for spousal at the time he files, does anyone know what % my benefits will be reduced from half?

I really appreciate any guidance!

Spousal Social Security...

If my husband files his SS at 65... do I file at the same time? (I will be 64 at that time). I believe my Spousal allotment would be larger from his SS than from my own. Does it matter if I wait longer to claim my Spousal or should I do it at the time time he files, or does it matter? I am having a hard time finding the nitty gritty on how Spousal works... Thanks in advance!!

WE ARE RETIRING NEXT YEAR, please help with income funds.

I am considering the "bucket" strategy for our retirement. I will have 3 years expenses in our cash bucket and a good amount in a growth bucket but I am beside myself researching for my income bucket. Re: income funds. What funds do you like? What income funds are the gold standards? What is your opinion about SPYI, QQQI or any/all types of covered call funds? I am doing my own DD I just need to narrow it down a bit! Thank you so much.

Sister Can Barely Walk..

I am visiting my sister 60yo, and she just came out of the hospital. She was admitted w a suspected stroke. MRI and Cat scan revealed no problems. She just is down tapering a 6 week Prednisone run.. 2nd this yr (Crohns). Her symptoms are slurred speech and wobbly gate and non-stop fatigue even with sleeping practically all day. The hospital did nothing to help these issues, just confirmed no stroke.

I came here because the constant sleeping makes me wonder about chronic fatigue or adrenals, especially with the multiple uses of prednisone. We are waiting to hear back from a Neurologist re: an appointment, but I really wanted to see if anyone here had any similar issues?

Assisted Living

We were told that our parents has to be able to walk 50 feet on their own to be able to be at this facility. Does anyone know if all assisted living places are that strict with mobility?

I dont know what to do!!!!

Both our mother & father are in hospice at their own home, father is doing better than mother but he has stage 4 colon cancer and has already done all of his chemo and radiation and was basically just sent home into hospice.. Mom has dementia, father asked if we could maybe get mom into a Memory Care Facility now because he can no longer take care of her. he has been her caregiver for many years.. we met with the memory care facility and they refused to take her because she is combative and at times.rageful.. what in the world are we to do now? does anyone have any suggestions? I can.not believe this.

Full Time Sitters and Taxes

We have two sitters that we've had for a while that we really like for both of our parents. Both our mother and father are now in hospice in their home. We want to set both of these sitters up to be full-time (12 hours ea) but don't know how to handle taxes and Social Security.. I think we would be responsible for both taxes and SS and will we need to pay overtime for over 8 hours? Has anyone had experience with this situation. We are very fortunate that our parents have enough funds to cover this for several years.

Inherited Art...

I have inherited several works of art from my parents. Everything I received is noted on the back of the artist and where they purchased it, except this piece with the martini glass. It feels very pop artist to me. I suspect the signature is probably under the frame.. they said they can't remember for sure but they think they bought it at a St. Pete art fair in the 80s or 90s. anyone have any ideas?

Please Help, I am about to lose my mind.

I have type 2 and am 80 lbs overweight. The last 2 years I have tried to control my diabetes with a very low carb diet. I have been pretty successful BUT lately I am having such bad heart palps and also metabolic acidosis Dx. I was told no more keto a while ago and now I dont know what to do. I have a CGM and am testing foods like beans and apples and Ezekiel bread to see if I can eat low GI without going extremely low carb. I am so frustrated and close to saying "F" it. I was on Metformin extended release but my body hates it, I had constant headaches and fatigue. Does anyone control type 2 with a low GI diet? Would counting calories so I can JUST lose weight help? I feel like crying and just giving up. I have supplemented with all types of and combos of electrolytes.

We are retiring next year. I want to start going to the gym together, join a wine club, go to the parks (we live in Orlando), Staycation for a while, build a garden.. etc. When I ask my husband what he wants to do- he says rest. He really won't just imagine the possibilities with me, which is really what I want more than anything, not necessarily to do everything I wrote above. He has been at his one job 30 years. Should I be worried? How can I encourage him to dream a bit.
