Who has their air conditioning on?

I usually wait until June 1st to turn it on just to try and save some money, but the thermostat is reading 85 degrees and it’s starting to get sticky lol.

Who else can relate

Hi all,

I’m in the market for a used car. I’ve seen several offers on AutoTrader that seem incredible, only for me to scroll down and realize the vehicle has been in an accident.

I am wondering how strictly I should avoid vehicles that have been involved in an accident? For example, I was looking at a 2021 Mazda 3 GT with only 30,000km going for ~20k. This is ~10k lower than market value due to the accident. The carfax report indicates that It was in a minor rear-end collision in 2024 with only damage to the rear.

Should I steer clear of this at all costs or is it worth considering given the steep price discount? This will be my first used car purchase so I’m very new to this.

Any advice is welcomed and appreciated

Hi Hyundai fam,

I’m looking to purchase a new (used) car and stumbled across an Elantra Sport with 6-speed manual, 86K km, and was wondering for some opinions/advice?

Can anyone comment on the reliability/maintenance costs of an Elantra? I’ve only ever owned a Mazda 3 (2 of them) and know that Hyundais can be hit or miss. Do elantras suffer from engine or transmission issues?

All comments are welcomed and appreciated

Hi all,

I’m going to be buying my first used car shortly and am looking for some advice about the smartest way (financially) to purchase it. My budget is around 20-30k.

For a financial background, I have about 40k that I’ve saved and invested (non registered account) with half of it originally being saved for the purpose of purchasing a new car. I also have 25k in a 3% savings account as an “emergency” fund and all my “registered” accounts are topped up each year.

I am wondering if I should buy the car cash or finance it, and if I buy cash, if I should use money from my “emergency” fund or liquidate the money that’s invested?. If I finance it, should I try to get a personal loan or go with financing at the dealership?

Thank you all for your support
