Did having a kid make you better at connecting with customers?

I’ve noticed that since having my daughter, I feel like I can relate to customers on a completely different level.
Before having a kid, I couldn’t really relate when customers would talk about their children, parenting, or family life. Now, those conversations feel much more natural, and I find myself connecting with people I might not have had much in common with before.

I feel like being a husband and father has opened up a whole new way of building rapport with customers. It’s not even necessarily intentional. I just have more shared life experiences to draw from.

Has anyone else noticed this after having kids? Did becoming a parent make you better at connecting with customers and building relationships in sales?

Toddler bed sharing safety concerns

Lately, our 18-month-old daughter wakes up crying around 4 or 5 AM. My wife has been bringing her into our bed and placing her between herself and the wall. I'm worried about potential safety risks like entrapment, but my wife isn't concerned. Is this a safe sleeping arrangement?

Funny experience while seeing Moana yesterday

Movie starts. No audio during the Disney castle intro. I think, “Eh, probably a stylistic choice.”

Then the actual movie starts… still no sound. I’m like, “Alright, let’s give it a minute.”
The moment I saw people having full conversations with their lips moving, I realized something was definitely wrong.

There were about six other people in the theater, and not a single one of us said or did anything for a solid 20 minutes. Finally, an older lady got up, walked out, and a minute later the sound came on. 😂

Meanwhile, I was fully prepared to watch the entire movie as a silent film.

What are some good, chill games to play while listening to an audiobook?

Looking for some recommendations for games that are great to "zone out" with while listening to an audiobook. I’m looking for stuff that’s pretty mechanical or task-oriented—nothing too story-heavy or sound-dependent.

What are your go-to titles for multitasking like this?
