Sorry to the honest users.

Screen recording as a payment bypass wasn't on my bingo card, but here we are. Free tier AI tools temporarily disabled while I build proper safeguards. September 15th is the target for the new system. I'm not interested in DRM or cloud lock-in, so this has to be solved without betraying the privacy-first mission. Honest users: thanks for sticking around during the rebuild.

The feature gap nobody talks about:

Every mainstream editor can trim, transition, and filter.

Zero mainstream editors can:

  1. Transcribe your footage locally
  2. Reason about the content structure
  3. Generate missing assets on-device
  4. Composite them back into the timeline
  5. Do all four in a single session
  6. Never send a frame to the cloud

AetherCut ships all six. Browser-based. Privacy-first. No API middleware.

Because once you chain transcribe + reason + generate + composite, you're not editing video anymore. You're directing an AI production pipeline that actually respects your data.

That's why nobody else sells these features. They can't. Their architecture won't allow it.

Looking for Feedback on a CMMS platform.

I can't post the url anywhere on Reddit, it either gets deleted or I get banned for self promoting. I really would appreciate any feedback from anyone familiar with the different platforms that are out there.

DM for login credentials and url.

Multi post/Multi announce?

Have you guys ever seen a video editor that allows multi post and multi announce all with one click? I think Aethercut is the only one that has this option.

I got tired of "buy first, find out later" editor paywalls, so I built the opposite: use every pro tool free, only pay if you export with it

Solo founder here. I run AetherCut, a video editor that works entirely in your browser — your footage never uploads anywhere (you can literally verify this in the DevTools network tab, which I encourage).

I just shipped a new pricing model and I'd genuinely like this community's take on it.

The problem I had with my own old pricing: one $14.95/mo tier that unlocked everything. Nobody wants to pay $15 to find out if a color grading tool is any good. Conversion showed it — people bounced at the lock icon.

The new model:

- Free: the full core editing workflow. Unlimited 1080p exports, no watermark, no account needed.
- $4.99/mo: 26 pro production tools (chroma key, color grades, stabilization, EQ, split-screen...)
- $9.99/mo: 28 AI tools (voiceover, dubbing, auto-captions, magic mask, upscale...)
- $14.95/mo: everything + 4K

The twist: pro production tools are free to USE. Grade your footage, key your green screen, whatever — the paywall only appears at export, when you've already seen the result on your own video. And if you don't want to pay, one click strips the premium effects and exports clean. I refuse to hold anyone's video hostage.

The AI tools stay locked up front because they cost me real server money per run — being honest about that.

Would this model make you more or less likely to try a paid tier? Happy to answer anything about the client-side architecture too (WebCodecs, ffmpeg.wasm, the works).

Follow up question for Video Editors.

The other day I asked about making AetherCut's subscription menu a la carte. Having a few bundles based on workflows and a few based on tool groups and being able to add individual tools to a bundle or just pick the ones users want to use. But what if I took it a step further? Keeping the free tools free and being able to choose what tools you want to use for a specific project. Pro rate them realistically and pay per export?

That way if users only editing a few videos a month they aren't tied into reoccurring subscriptions? I'm just trying to make AetherCut as user friendly as possible. Comment with suggestions please I need the feedback. Thanks

I have a question for all of the video editors out there.

If you could select the features and make your own custom plan, for example AetherCut has 72 tools, I know that isn't a whole lot compared to the bigger names but hear me out.

If you could pick and choose the features and make your own custom menu instead of paying for all the pro features, would you? Like have basic tools for free and then select individual tools to add to your subscription adding to the subscription cost starting at $0 for basic and $14.95/mo for all? That way you only pay for the tools/features you use? Also considering workflow bundling. Might be a dumb idea but I still wanted to bounce it off of some of your brains and get input. Thanks

For Sale: IronFile — A Complete, Self-Hosted Industrial Document Control + SAP + CMMS + Inline 3D CAD Platform

After building and shipping a production-grade system, I’m making IronFile available as a full asset sale.IronFile is purpose-built for mid-market machine shops and defense/aerospace suppliers who need robust document control, maintenance management, and 3D CAD viewing — but cannot or will not move to the cloud.

Key Capabilities:

Self-hosted, airgap / ITAR / DFARS ready

Inline 3D CAD viewer (Autodesk Platform Services / 23+ formats — no extra licenses)

Full CMMS, parts catalog, work orders, and machine registry

100% customizable & modular architecture: Full branding, page setup, and UI customization without touching core code. Integrations are independent spokes — easily added, removed, or toggled per tenant without breaking the platform.

Production-ready integrations: SAP S/4HANA, IBM Maximo, Microsoft 365 + Entra ID SSO, DocuSign + Adobe Sign, Slack, and more

Complete source code (FastAPI + React + MongoDB), Docker/K8s pipelines, Electron desktop + PWA, extensive test suite

IronFile is the hub. The integrations are the spokes. Together they create a highly productive, flexible wheel that adapts to your environment.

This is not vaporware — it’s a working v3.0 product with ~80k lines of code, 581 automated tests, and clean IP. Open-box / white-label ready. I’m offering the full source code, intellectual property, and a 30-day technical handover. Priced transparently near verified build cost. Ideal for manufacturing software companies, defense/aerospace integrators, or strategic acquirers who want to accelerate in the PDM / document control space.
