First job

Hi! I'm an IMG and have done my bachelors in science and surgery. I want to take a break from giving my steps ATM and want to get into a job in the health care sector ( I'm very flexible, more inclined towards clinical, but anything works). I would love to hear similar experiences on what landed you a job with 0 US medical experience ( I've worked with doctors in treating patients out of the US). Would I need to work on any certifications? Any advices are appreciated! Thank you!

PS - I don't require a visa

Healthcare job walk-in?

Hello! I'm a medical graduate (IMG) and I’ve been looking for a job for the past couple of weeks through LinkedIn and Indeed. I’m pretty flexible with the type of role I go for, but I’m leaning more toward research.

I’m wondering how important connections are when it comes to finding opportunities. Is networking really necessary, or would it be worth trying the old-school approach of walking into hospitals/clinics with my resume?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been through this or has any advice!

Washington Ave - Female Moving

Hello! I'm looking to move to Houston. I'm a female in my early 20s who works remotely, and I'm hoping to find a safe area that's close to downtown with good nightlife and events.

I'm ideally looking for apartments around Montrose and the heights. Ive looked through a bunch of posts here and am trying to figure out of this area safe enough? I'd appreciate any recommendations for nearby neighborhoods or apartments? Ideally, I'm looking for apartments in the $1,500 to $1,700 per month range.

Manager turned distant all of a sudden?

I’m a remote employee and my manager has always been super sweet. She used to wish me happy weekends before logging off, check in when I was sick, ask about my availability before giving me work, and we’d talk a lot about random non-work stuff too.
Last month our whole team met for a conference, and I made a great impression with the leadership team. I did talk to my manager there, but honestly didn’t get to spend that much time with her because I was catching up with a lot of other people too.
Ever since the conference, she’s become a lot more formal personally. Work-wise everything is still the same. She still gives me credit in front of leadership, includes me in things, tags me on work, etc. But the personal side changed. No more weekend wishes, barely replies if I wish her, and the casual chats kind of stopped.
At the same time, her manager has started working with me more closely too. What do you guys think could be the reason? Am I overthinking it and maybe she’s just busy? Or could I have come across distant during the conference without realizing it?

My TPO is 58 and TG is 86 (which is within the normal range). However, my TSH is <0.01, T3 is 4.5 (reference range 2.2–4.2), and T4 is 2.02 (reference range 0.8–1.9). I was also tested for vitamin D and zinc, and both are low.

About 6 months ago, my TPO and TG were at similar levels, but my TSH, T3, and T4 were all within range, so my doctor didn’t refer me to an endocrinologist at that time.

Now, my doctor is suggesting a referral to an endocrinologist, but we’re unsure whether the vitamin D and zinc deficiencies could be contributing to these changes. For now, we’ve decided that I’ll take a multivitamin with vitamin D and zinc for a month, then repeat labs and reassess. If there’s no improvement, I’ll proceed with the endocrinologist referral.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Would you recommend seeing an endocrinologist now, or waiting to see if correcting the deficiencies makes a difference?
