TuneCore permanently closed my account after a $1 test withdrawal

I updated my payout card because my old one expired. Before withdrawing my balance, I decided to test it with just a $1 withdrawal to make sure everything worked.

Instead, TuneCore rejected the withdrawal, put all my withdrawals on hold, and my account went under an "internal review." Support initially told me to wait 3–4 business days.

Then I finally received a response from their team. They said my account was flagged for "abnormal activity," but they refused to explain what that activity actually was.

They permanently closed my TuneCore account, removed my entire catalog from stores, said my funds will remain on hold, and stated that I won't be able to upload music through this or any other TuneCore account.

I've been using TuneCore for years, so this is honestly devastating. It's not just about the money. It's also the music I've spent years creating, including my most streamed release, which has now been taken down without any clear explanation.

If you're currently using TuneCore or considering using it, I think it's worth seriously reconsidering after seeing how this situation was handled.

Right now I'm honestly in shock. I never imagined that updating my payout card and testing a $1 withdrawal could end with losing years of work overnight.

TuneCore put my withdrawals on hold right after I updated my payout card just to test a $1 withdrawal

I updated my payout card because my old one expired. Before withdrawing my balance, I decided to test it with just a $1 withdrawal to make sure everything worked.

Instead, TuneCore rejected the withdrawal, put all my withdrawals on hold, and now my account is under an "internal review." Support told me to wait 3–4 business days.

Seriously? I wasn't trying to withdraw a huge amount. I was literally testing $1 to avoid problems.

If changing your payout method automatically triggers a security review, at least warn users beforehand instead of freezing their funds after they submit a withdrawal.

Has anyone else had this happen? How long did it take for the hold to be removed?

This has been a really frustrating experience and doesn't inspire much confidence in TuneCore's payout system.

UPDATE #1:

TuneCore replied and said they completed a full review of my account. According to them, my account was flagged for "abnormal activity," so:

  • My music has been removed from stores.
  • My funds will remain on hold in accordance with their Terms & Conditions.
  • My TuneCore account has been permanently closed.
  • They will no longer distribute any releases from this account.
  • They also stated that uploading new content to this or any other TuneCore account will not be supported.

I am honestly shocked by this decision.

What would you upgrade next in my home studio with a $1,500 budget?

I'm trying to figure out what would make the biggest difference in my setup rather than buying gear just for the sake of upgrading.

Current setup:

  • Neumann MT48
  • Sony MDR-7506
  • Adam T5V monitors
  • Lauten Audio LA-220 microphone

My room is already fully acoustically treated, so I'm not looking to spend more on treatment.

I mainly produce and mix ITB, with occasional vocal recording. I don't record bands or live instruments, so I don't really need additional I/O.

Right now I'm considering:

  • Buying a used pair of Genelec 8330 (or another monitor around the same price)
  • Getting an Audeze LCD-X
  • IK Multimedia ARC
  • Or maybe something else that would have a bigger impact that I'm overlooking.

If you had around $1,500 USD, what would you do?

Would you consider this controlling behavior or just insecurity?

I just discovered that my girlfriend opened my Instagram, and hid the stories of several female friends from my account.

I wasn't asked, and I didn't know until later.

I don't think the issue is the stories themselves. The issue is that she felt entitled to make changes to my account and decide which friends I should or shouldn't see.

These are online and social friends I've known for years, not people I'm flirting with or hiding anything about.

Would you consider this normal relationship behavior, or is this crossing a line?

Has anyone experienced something similar with the NDH 30?

I got a Neumann NDH 30 and noticed a slight right-side shift in the center image. Using the same MT48 interface and tracks, my Sony MDR-7506 sounds perfectly centered.

To make sure it wasn't just my ears, I asked these people to listen:

  • Male friend #1 (works in music/audio): also noticed a slight right-side bias.
  • Female friend #2 (not involved in music production): sounded slightly shifted to the right as well, but only when listening very very carefully.
  • The technician at service center & salesperson : sounded normal.

For those who own the NDH 30, have you ever experienced a subtle left/right imbalance or center image shift? Did you find a cause or solution?

Thanks in advance!
