Help me find an aircon for my college accommodation for a student with medical heat intolerance
Hi there!
I’m doing a masters program and staying at college accommodation.
Unfortunately, I’m finding that not just my room, but most buildings in the UK are stifling hot with no airflow or cooling.
This wouldn’t be a huge deal, except I have multiple sclerosis and my worst symptom is extreme heat intolerance - I can’t regulate my body temperature or cool myself off and I’m finding myself overheating dangerously — and it’s really affecting my ability to go do anything, as it makes me physically sick.
As it is October and I’m already not able to handle the heat, I am horrified about what the summer will bring.
I am hoping you might have suggestions for a portable aircon I can suggest to the college to help me as a disability accommodation.
I also have the added issue of being immune compromised, and need a unit that doesn’t use refillable standing water as its as huge bacteria/mold risk for me.
Any units you’d recommend?
TLDR: need suggestions for a portable aircon with a closed cooling system / not refillable standing water for a disabled student with medical heat intolerance and immunosuppression.
