How would you mend this rip?

How would you mend this rip?

I really love these jeans and want to spend time doing something with care to mend them.

I lost my balance and fell into a garden fence. I've got about a dozen different types of garden fencing and of course I fell into the only strip of it where there is a spiky metal part on top 🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn't get hurt at all, but my favorite jeans did 😭

Multiple Shipping Orders from One Buyer

This is the third time in two weeks that a single buyer has purchased more than one of my shipping listings without contacting me first to ask about combined shipping. I use my own labels, so I'm going to ship the items together anyway because it saves me money. Why on earth wouldn't buyers message me first to ask if that's an option rather than paying $6 shipping for each individual item?

I'm not mad about it, just curious what the thinking is here when in general everyone is so stingy about paying for shipping in the first place.

I do notice that a lot of my buyers are older. Maybe it's just their inability to fully comprehend the technology?

Package Returned to Sender

I shipped an order and the tracking number says that the package is being returned to sender because of "incorrect address." The buyer input their address so that is not on me. What happens next? I don't have the package back yet.

My sixth year with milkweeds and my first time seeing Milkweed Tussock Moth caterpillars

I have never seen one in real life before today. Do they always show up en masse like this? I have tons of common milkweed here so I'm not worried about them defoliating some. They are so cool looking!!

My common milkweed blocking all but a little corner of my Monarch Waystation sign

This is my sixth year with this garden. In retrospect, common milkweed was not a good choice. I don't dislike it at all, but my space is too small for how happily it multiplies.

I live in a townhome with an HOA and this is my front yard. Gasp! They're cool. There is one other non-turf front yard in my development and the HOA has no issue with either of us doing what we do. I believe two things helped this: signage explaining that the garden is intentional, and I joined the HOA eight years ago and taught them all about the little ecosystem around our homes.

I've got swamp and butterfly milkweed establishing, and when they've taken hold I'm going to start cutting back the common milkweed more heavily early in the season. I do really like it, and we see lots of monarchs, but it is not the best use of my teeny little piece of land. I hope that these last few years of seeds have blown to some spaces where they've been allowed to grow!

Doug Tallamy Lecture in Doylestown, PA Next Week

Doug Tallamy is giving a lecture at Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA next week, and there are still tickets available. I cannot believe this hasn't sold out - but I guess the art nerds and the plant nerds don't overlap as much as I thought. Anyway, if you're in my area, I hope to see you there!!

(I am in no way associated with this lecture or Michener - I'm just a museum member and Tallamy fan who is super excited for this lecture so close to home!)

What is one YA book that you think every adult should read if they haven't already?

There are tons of lists online of YA books recommended for adults, but what YA book do you feel is important for everyone to read at least once in their lifetime?

Mystery Recommendation Needed

For my summer reading challenge one of the categories is a mystery or thriller. Those aren't my genres so I would love some recommendations. I like cozy books with good character development. I enjoy historical fiction. I love nature themes.

'Doors Open' App Notifications

How does my ID.4 know when my doors are open, but it wasn't me that opened them? I don't get a notification that my doors are open when I'm getting in and out of my car, but last night my husband went outside to get something from my car and as soon as he opened it, I got the notification in the app that my doors are open. How does it know the difference?

Seatbelt Adjuster for Petite Driver?

I am very petite and the seatbelt digs into my collarbone to the point where it distracts me while driving. Adjusting the belt and the seat haven't led to a solution. Can anyone recommend a seat belt adjuster that doesn't prevent the seatbelt from locking when needed, but that will help position it so that it sits on my shoulder and not in my neck? I've had this issue to some degree in nearly every vehicle I've owned, but this one is by far the worst and I can't live with it.

Travel Cup for Hot Beverages

I want a travel mug / cup that will hold hot tea but that has a solid lid designed for keeping it closed, not for drinking through. My Contigo cup is in amazing shape, but the complicated lids start to smell mildewy even though I never drink through them, it's just the fact that the drink comes into contact with them repeatedly. I don't want to keep replacing plastic lids that I don't use for their intended function. I take the lid off when drinking, I just need a cup that seals so my tea won't spill during my commute.

Help with spice level in Indian recipes

I'm new to cooking Indian....and pretty much everything.

When my husband and I order takeout, we can get the same dish but I'll ask for mild and he'll ask for spicy and we get exactly that. How do I change the spice levels like that when I cook at home? In this particular recipe, would I reduce/omit the serrano peppers for a more mild sauce? Will the overall flavor profile still be the same if I don't put any serranos in? How do I know how spicy a recipe is before making it? I suppose a lot of this is just something I'll learn with time and practice, but if you have any beginner tips, I would love them!
