Is this a reasonable price?

I got this ls430 with 197k miles and it hasn’t gotten its timing belt changed for 150k. This former lexus mechanic who now has his own shop said it would cost 1650 dollars. He only uses oem parts. Just wondering because this is the only place I’ve gotten a quote so far. Thank you for your help!

Would you buy this 2001 LS430 for $3k?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been looking for an LS430 for a while and found a 2001 with 196k miles for $3,000. I wanted to get some opinions before I go look at it tomorrow.

Here’s what I know:

196k miles
Clean title
2 owners
Current owner has had it since 2006
Vehicle history looks clean besides one minor accident in 2022 (right side/bumper)
Seller says the timing belt hasn’t been done (or he doesn’t know), it needs a left front wheel bearing, and it has “a little rust.”

I know the timing belt is a big one, and I plan on checking the frame really well for rust since it’s an Illinois car.
Assuming the rust isn’t bad and it drives well, would you guys buy it for $3,000? Or would you try to negotiate closer to $2,500?

Also, is there anything LS430-specific I should be checking while I’m there besides the timing belt, wheel bearing, and rust?

Thank you for your help!

Gx470 maybe?

Hello you all I was looking for a Lexus suv and I stumbled across this gx470 2004 on Facebook marketplace going for 7k and has 178k miles. It caught my eye with its boxing look and very nice interior! I have a toyota highlander 2008 and love it still. It has taken me places but Ive spent way too much on repairs unfortunately…… is this a good choice? I have no knowledge on this car and I want something to take me places without worrying. I drive a decent amount. Any help is appreciated! Heres the carfax link. And heres more images of the car link

First low voltage job!!!!

Just got my first low voltage installer job for the summer and I’m trying to build a solid beginner tool setup without wasting money on stuff I don’t need yet.

Mostly doing low voltage / AV / networking / security installs. Company gave me a hand tool list but said they can help me acquire some tools if needed.

What would you guys prioritize buying first for day 1? Best brands/value for a beginner? Any tools you wish you bought earlier (or avoided)?

Trying to be prepared and get good deals without overspending on pro-level gear immediately. Thank you for the help!

Finally filled out my first board!!!

I just wanted to show you all my pedalboard! I’m pretty proud of it, it rocks out with my orange super crush 100 so good. I have top pedals in my fx loop and have the bottom ones first in chain. I mainly play doom/sludge and would love any tips! I still haven’t dialed something i really like yet…. :p

I got this fender bassman 100 combo amp for 100 dollars today and it sounds great! Still dialing in tones for bass and guitar but I was wondering does anyone have experience with this amp? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I play doom/sludge metal and sometimes it can sound muddy.
