Anyway, for the rest of humanity (and aliens/prehuman races who find this) interested in Exalted, I'm about to start an Exalted campaign set in Gem with a group of four Sidereals going there to investigate what the heck is going on after every group under the Unconquered Sun tried to take the city and failed; I'm however a little uncertain about the direction I'm going in and I want a second opinion on my factions/major players and goals for the pcs.

To writ, this will be a short campaign (between 12-20 sessions) with the pcs being assigned a set of goals . All the players have agreed to allow fanmade Exalt types and to do the faction conflict I'm going to have each of the pcs roll 2d10s at the end of each session and use the results to see which leaders of which factions are acting against who else. I also don't expect the pcs to meet all the characters, infact I imagine many would be background characters/unused side characters, however certain plot points will occur through the campaign (e.g: Golden Voice that Silences All will appear only half way through and will hold a gala for everyone **BECAUSE HE CAN!!**)

Goals:

1. Survey and salvage what they can of the planned Destiny for Gem (Rankar the VII will rule until he dies of old age, but have to set his three strongest children to the other Tsarvo cities as governers to keep them from fighting; in their absence a lowly functionary (called Sakoura) grows in power and uses a supposed coup from the fallen House Arajana to kill off all heirs to Rankar except some of his youngest grandchildren and become regent. One of Rankar VII's surving grandchildren, also called Rankar, will rise up from exile in the city of Kandara and retake the throne of Gem and remake it's empire as a league of cities and begin an artist renaisance while married to a noble lady called Nahomie while his true love, Jamila, marries the heir to the exiled Arajana house to keep the peace.)
2. Locate three missing officers of the Aerial Legion as they went AWOL trying to stop Gem from falling. If they are dead they are to have any remains and artifacts returned, if alive they are to be brought alive to face judgement in Yu Shan. The Officers are:
   1. Thousand Bullet Jack - Exigent of bullet based fire arms and fuelled missiles (aka the only person who can who use regular guns instead of firewands due to Yu Shan Politics). Has a range of experimental artifact six shooters and shotguns that could radically change warfare in Creation that was surpressed since the late First Age.
   2. The Purple Dragon of the Burning Coral Shoal - technically two lesser elemental dragons that are constantly intertwined as emotional support, they function as one being at this point. If slain their body could contain valuable ingredients for artifacts and occult rituals.
   3. Hammer of Widows - a traditionalist war god who just likes to fight; is also a sapient hammer. If dead his body could be reforged as a powerful artifact.
3. Figure out why everyone in Gem is talking Skytongue instead of Flametongue
4. Capture one of these so called 'Abyssal' Exalted and/or 'Infernal' Exalted.
5. Don't let Gem be destroyed.

This might be too much, but I won't flesh them out unless the players start looking into that character's specific direction.

And a few closing remarks:

• Hergal is based of this concept I had for a central bank of Yu Shan. Golden Voice that Silences All is Zaskal of the Smiles as a Deathlord.
• The ice vampires are a home brew species of Dark Brood that suck out the heat of targets to survive; they thrive under Gem by eat at magma vents, which cool down the whole of Mount Cinere centuries ago, leaving Gem as a caldera and not an active volcano. They're arrogant but largely peaceful. Might either be a fully prehuman race or tied to this Avatistic Exalted concept I had - basically humans infused with the essence of fallen races and able to mutate human followers based on their specific fallen race; in that case the Ice vampires would be the dwindling but immortal servants of a past Avatistic Exalt whose shard is being used as the final seal for the nocturnals. Is that a bit too much to add?
• I'm not sure about my concepts for the demons involved and I'm not sure if there are any better fits. Also not sure what to do with the Fair Folk but I'll give it a try with the concepts I have.
• Gem was attack but not destroyed; it's outer walls are broken in some places but work is being done to fix them and the Fair Folk, Demons and Undead and mostly outside. The Autochthonians are under ground and the various mortals, exalts and gods are based around the city.
• Is there anyone you think I should add and if so why?
• Any other thoughts an suggestions?
