Respite or New Placement Checklist

Does anyone have a Respite or New Placement Checklist they can please share.

I had a kiddo last week for respite and his foster mom packed his daily meds in a pill dispenser. It occurred to me I didn't know exactly what he was taking. Also the agency didn't give me his birth date or CIN. Also, I wasn't sure of any pre-existing health conditions (they told me about mental health dx).

I should have asked more questions, but I knew the kiddo from the agency and he's hard to place bc of behaviors. I sort of figured they'd tell me this info before placement (but maybe not right when I agreed to the respite dates) but they never did.

I'm going to be taking respite children and possibly a new long term placement. What should I be asking - even for these shorter stays - so that I'm more prepared? Does anyone have a resource?

It was a fine week overall, but it would have been extremely helpful to know that the kiddo wets the bed nightly and has medication for it that the FP didn't get to refill before sending him to respite...

Thank you!!

Kid changing Age

Hi! I'm new here. I set up an account for my foster kid. He's 9. How do I lock it so he doesn't change the age? He already did once!

Thanks.

Parental controls are set up/linked

Does anyone else crave sugar when they miss a dose of metformin? I've been on it for 3 months. But I had to fast for blood work today and I forgot to take it when I finally ate.

I've been foggy and headachy and hot and craving sugar all day.

Why isn't there a professor/lecturer/higher education professional appreciation week?

Does your college or university do anything for teacher appreciation week?

Do you *identify as* a teacher? What's the difference between an educator and a teacher - aside from semantics?

I do see myself as a teacher! But I wonder if that would be frowned upon by K-12 teachers. Does it matter?

P.s. This sort of feels similar to the "who gets to be called professor" debate. I'm just procrastinating and curious!

Edit: I didn't expect to get attacked by this post. I wasn't trying to be petty. I really was curious! Genuinely.

Sometimes I wonder how you relate to your students if you talk to peers (online or in person) this way. Like does it feel good to yell at someone online?

I do feel like I'm a teacher. I don't walk around getting free teacher appreciation perks or something! AND with the state of higher education, cost of living, etc. it would be nice to feel appreciated. I don't need a whole week, but sometimes this is extremely lonely and underappreciated work. The anger I've received is stunning and frankly unnecessary.

Moved in April 14. No hot water in the shower. LL came that Saturday to take a look. Came about a week later with the part needed to fix the hot water. Today he fixed it but now we have extremely low water pressure!

I'm paying for a 3 bed, 2 bath in NYC and I can't use one of the showers for over two weeks!

Edit: not an emergency bc I have another bathroom... But still annoying.

Edit Again: there's no/low water pressure in both bathroom showers and the kitchen sink!

Edit 3: I think the LL is good and responsive. I know it'll get fixed. Just annoying at 7:30 PM when kiddo needs to shower and I'm still cooking dinner...

Last semester I tried a new assignment and the submissions (for the most part) were excellent!

I used the same assignment this semester and I've literally graded four of the SAME submissions (a few details different).

So, I guess I can't use this assignment anymore.

I know we're tired of AI ranting. Sorry!
