Why is slow-paced long form content AVD usually so low?

Do people leave video if they are not seeing something interesting in the first 5 seconds? Literally every video need fast-paced editing like MrBeast, because when I make a relaxing video and upload it, the AVD usually goes down to around 40% for two-minute video

When I upload videos that needs buildup at the beginning, many viewers leave in the first 30 seconds, is it because people like watching shorts today?

Recently I've discovered a channel which uploads gameplay videos, a lot of videos from 9-10 years ago got millions of views, nowadays, every new video gets no more than 1000 views

Netherite ingot goes from 7.5m to 4.5m (because of reset)

Trident goes from 4m to 700k

Piglin head goes from 5m to 750k
