What did you think of the antagonists of Tobot Galaxy Detectives?

While the heroic characters of the GD series are often discussed, what about the antagonists? Were they well-liked villain characters throughout the show?

Them originating from space like the Tobots from GD continuity also gives a similar impression to Brave Series

Dendoh's early development stuff/concepts

From the 20th Anniversary interviews.

Well, the show was initially pitched to have a post-apocalyptic premise, where the heroes must fight against mechanical aristocrats. There are even unused Data Weapon ideas, and enemy machines that are Gear-like in theming

Dendoh and Ogre, the battery robot duo of Gear Fighter Dendoh

*the 3rd picture is the mech duo with their new animal-themed weapons from the sequel web novel series.

Ever heard of this mecha anime?

This is Gear Fighter Dendoh, a mecha anime which was released in the year 2000 and served as one of the influences for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED since it was made by the same director behind it, Mitsuo Fukuda. The GEARS are known for their distinctive power source, being large AA batteries that can be replaced for recharging its power and spinning wheel-like components for versatile fighting moves. They are allied with animal beings called Data Weapons, which can transform into a variety of powerful weapons.

They consist of Dendoh and Ogre. Dendoh is the blue giant robot powered with batteries, and serves as the primary machine used by the heroes to battle evil aliens. Ogre on the other hand, is the red and black-colored mech, who has a medieval knight-like mask.

I liked the aesthetics of the GEAR series, as it certainly possesses a unique flavor to the Super Robot shows.
