I have gained over 40 pounds throughout this whole ordeal. Prior to surgery I was taken off birth control due to a bloodclot and started on Aygestin. On the aygestin I noticed some weight gain especially around my midsection and my body holding on to the weight. I had extensive endo excision surgery about 10 weeks ago and since the surgery I’ve continued to gain weight which I know is a mix of healing, inflammation and not being as active as I previously was. Prior to all of this I was run 5 miles 3-4x a week and now I can barely walk more than 2 miles without feeling completely exhausted.
I’m curious if anyone else has had a similiar experience? And if they tried valproic acid? (My doctor recommended that but, I heard weight gain is also a side effect as well). I’m feeling pretty uncomfortable so any advice helps.
