Dancing Queen 50th anniversary

Happy anniversary, Dancing Queen!

Over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify alone. The song runs for only about 3 minutes 50 seconds, so 1.5 billion Spotify plays alone represent roughly 11 million years of collective human listening time.

Who else was there first time around in 1976?

Torre Don Virgillo Country Hotel

Anyone stayed here?

The reviews are good and it seems like a sensible base to explore the west and south.

I just don't want to be disappointed by my accommodation choice.

Travelling Oct, with a car.

Blimey, isn't using a potato river really messy

I like my mis en place to be really tidy but this kitchen tool devastates it.

Specialised crisper?

Does anyone know if you can get crispers that sit within these silicone liners? I can't bear to not use liners and have fats and grease pouring over the bin floors.

Rejection again

The Royal West of England Open exhibition. I just don't seem to be getting anywhere. Three pig portraits entered and all three rejected. I don't know what I'm getting wrong.

Edit;

THANK YOU everyone for your kind words and constructive criticism. It's not the rejection from the RWA Open that's upset me (all artists quickly learn to deal with that), it's the complete bafflement of what the selectors are looking for, especially when I see examples of poor quality selected work in previous RWA Open exhibitions.

But nevermind, on to the next project and the pig portraits sell well regardless.

Uh. Recycling not collected again today

Put them all out last night and nothing. Same as last week after a two week gap, fucking tons of plastic metal, glass all sorted, just waiting to be picked up.

No messages or info on the BCC website. If they talked to their customers offering an explanation it would at least go some way to helping.

Why are they so useless?

Edit;

Thanks for all the referrals to Bristol Waste. I naively thought just looking at the BCC website would provide all the answers.

Lost dog called Bella

Met a very distressed chap desperately for his dog, Bella, on my dog walk in Badocks woods today.

He says Bella was stolen from his secure front garden but he regularly walks Bella in Badocks, hence searching here.

An info would be greatly appreciated.

Revello de Torro

Felix Revello de Torro, the great Spanish portrait painter, is 100 years old today.

The Museo Revello de Torro is a wonderful place to visit in Málaga to see many of his paintings.

Catalogging

I am at the point with my reasonably large collection that, if I die, no-one will known the history and provenance of the works. I've looked at few commercially available databases like Collectorz and Artwork Archive but I think it'll be more future proof building a database in Excel.

Has anyone got any experience of doing this? Any tips? Any templates I can find anywhere?

Many thanks.
