Traveling with my cat

I'll be traveling with my cat shortly. I understand that I can request a room to take the cat out and go through a metal detector. Is this possible at LAX? Do I need to coordinate with TSA prior to me getting there? I do have TSA pre-check.

Thank you.

Traveling with cat from CA to TX

I'm bringing a cat on a 3 hour flight from Los Angeles to Austin, and I have extreme anxiety about it.

I purchased a soft carrier that is 10x10x17 inches, which is supposed to fit under the seat. He's only 9 pounds, so pretty small, but it's still a small space. No room to stand. I just saw the vet about a sedative for him, and he gave me gabapentin. I don't know if this will be strong enough to keep him quiet and comfortable for the entire journey (3.5 hours pre-flight, 3 hours flight, 1 hour post flight). I have 8 ml total, but I'm supposed to give him 1 or 2 ml. The vet mentioned something about a pheromone as well.

I have read that a health certificate is not required to fly, but I don't know what to expect when I get to Texas. I can't see how they would stop me and ask for one, however I want to be sure.

I know need to go to the counter and pay a fee for the carrier. I hope someone will be there at 4:30am.

So my questions are:

* Is the Gabapentin going to work well enough for him?

* Do I need a health certificate to fly, or at my destination of Texas?

* Should I try to give him water during the journey, or will he just end up peeing in the carrier?

* Can I request a room to take him out for the x-ray procedure so he doesn't bolt into the airport? I have TSA pre-check. I read this is possible.

Any help and suggestions appreciated.

Thank you.

Outback Motortek crash bars damage to tower?

I want to install these, but I understand that they may damage the tower when the bike falls. Has anyone had this happen? To what extent was the damage?

Short levers from Ali Express

I have a 2026 Rally. I bought short brake and clutch levers from Ali Express. They go on fine, but the problem is that the clutch lever doesn't wrap around the turn-horn-highlight housing. I didn't take pictures unfortunately. The problem being the clutch lever can't be pulled all the way in because it hits the housing. OK, so they weren't that much and I can toss them. The strange thing is the levers on crfsonly.com look exactly the same. Has anyone ordered the ones off crfsonly.com? Are there any other recommendations?

Engine died

I was riding this morning, turned a corner and the engine died. I pulled over, tried to start it and it fired up fine. I had half a tank of gas so it wasn't starved for fuel. Any idea why?

Lowering Link Experience?

I want to flat foot for dirt riding. I have a seat which is an inch lower, but that doesn't accomplish the goal. I only weight 130, so not really worried about it bottoming out. An inch is probably fine. I know I would need to lower the front shocks to match. Is there really any handling problems? Any comments appreciated.

Sprocket/Chain Guidance

I've installed aftermarket performance products that should up the horsepower about 18-20%. I wanted to up the gearing because I hate the high revving at highway speeds, and first gear is too low geared for me. The added power should keep the bike going at highway speeds, only lower revs, at least in my mind.

Based on information in another post, I installed a 38 tooth rear sprocket, and purchased a 104 tooth chain. Unfortunately, the chain is one link too short, and of course the stock chain of 106 links is too long. Am I just out of luck with this combination? Do I need a 39 tooth sprocket and the 106 link chain? A 39 tooth sprocket doesn't seem worth the hassle. At this point I'm ready to abort my idea. Any suggestions appreciated.
