Any love for the Avigation Bigeye? I'm over the moon.

Been wanting a bigeye for some time now. Fell in love with the dial. Found an excellent example for a great price and swapped on an Erica's Original SWICK strap. Couldn't be happier. This is a long term keeper.

Finally got to try on the 310.30.42.50.04.001 today and I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed. I've been looking forward and thinking of a purchase for a while now. Unfortunately, Legibility is terrible compared to the black dial varient (which is incredible btw).

Looks amazing in all the photos I've seen, but in person I guess my old man eyes aren't impressed.

Looking to add a proper dress watch to my collection and have currently narrowed my choices down to two beautiful and relatively affordable longines models.

1. Longines Master 190th Anniversary in steel

Pros: Love the dial and breguet numerals. Heat blued hands. Open case back. Comes on a black strap , but not sure of the quality. Local dealer has one in stock so no shipping fees.

Cons: 40mm case size. Too big for a modern proper dress watch imo.

2. Longines Silver Arrow

Pros: Love the opaline-silver dial and striated indices. Combined with the sharp Dauphine-style hands and sturdy, fully polished case. Has a very vintage feel to it which I keep coming back to. Perfect 38.5mm case size. The 'Silver Arrow' script exudes cool style.

Cons: Would definitely have to switch the strap out for a high quality black leather. Not available to try on in person as of now, would have to order, pay shipping etc.

I think both are solid choices but I want your opinion. Not interested in "wear what you like" or "if you can't decide for yourself then don't do it", etc. I really want to hear your opinions. Which watch do you prefer?
