Handshakes?

All my fellow sweaty hands sufferers, how do you deal with handshakes? I work in a job that requires me to shake important people’s hands a dozen plus times a day to include my managers and bosses because of meetings. My boss literally walks around every morning saying hi to all his workers by shaking their hands. One day he has even said “wow why are your hands so wet?” In front of all my coworkers. I feel like he’s actually judging how i can be a competent worker if im such a nervous sweater.

I have tried all the anti perspirants on out there to include ionto. It was effective but the problem is i started getting compensatory sweating really bad in other places that i hadn’t ever sweated before like my nose or back of my knees so i stopped. Now my hands sweat but nose also still sweats now.

I really miss covid days when we had an excuse to not shake peoples hands.

Is it almost socially better to just tell people sorry my hands are wet before i shake their hands? Is it unprofessional to say my hands are wet, i can i give you a fist bump instead?

Bad breath HELPPPP

Does anybody else struggle with bad breath from their digestive issues??

My husband has told me that there is a very strong sulfur/garlicy/onion smell to my breath that is very hard to ignore when i sit close to him or even when we’re in the car together and im just talking staring straight ahead.

I know it’s not my gums/dental or tonsil stones as I’ve recently had a dental cleaning and they say my oral hygiene is great.

I have tried everything from tongue scrapers, lots of hydration, and obviously mints/gum but the gums only last so long.

I have had co workers recently always offer me gum when we have to work closely together looking at a computer screen and it’s so embarrassing.

I’m in the process of trying to get diagnosed - i think i might have SIBO and IBS and i really think that my gut just ferments everything and those bacteria odors is leaking out of my mouth. (Gross i know)

It’s making me so self conscious and my work involves me having to be around/talk to people in confined spaces. I hate that people think i don’t brush my teeth or have bad oral hygiene.

Would eating a super bland diet help? Has anyone else struggled with this and have any tips that will help?

IM 70.3 Both shoes I’ve trained in are banned?

Hi, I’m doing a 70.3 at the end of the month and just now discovered that both shoes I’ve been training in the whole time Hoka Mach x3 and Hoka Bondi 9 are on the banned list for height…. I had planned to race it in my mach x3… i start my taper training in a week. I have a new pair of hoka ahari, should i switch over to that for the remaining two weeks and hope for the best?

I am a very sub mediocre age grouper and will be finishing in the 7 hour mark with no chance of podium

I’ve seen other Reddit threads that says just run in banned shoes, no one will care for age groupers. I’ve seen other threads that says i should have integrity and race in legal shoes or why run the risk of one runner noticing me on the course and reporting me and my race cancelling on the run?

It’s not that i don’t want to not have integrity..: my concern at this point is just injury or the ahari not being broken in enough? Is 4-5 runs in a new pair of shoes enough to break them in?

Dual BAH/OHA eligibility?

Can any finance person tell me if this is legal/correct?

I am stationed overseas and one of my co workers told me that he gets almost $6K/month in housing allowance. When I asked how, he said he gets his OHA for himself for the duty station we are at but also gets BAH for California for his parents because they’re his dependents.

Here is where it gets weird- his parents currently live in a third world country.

I know he plans to send them to Cali if/when they get approved but they’re not living there yet.

Can you get dual BAH when they don’t even live at the location you’re getting BAH for?

COT leave in LV web or DTS?

Hi all,

Can’t seem to get a straight answer from anyone and was hoping there was some finance folks or anyone with other experience that can definitively tell me where COT leave is supposed to be inputted and processed? I know you have use up your own personal LV days and the Air Force only pays for the plane ticket. Does the LV get inputted into leaveweb like any other leave? I heard that it’s actually supposed to be entered into DTS and then finance will charge the leave days later.

Thanks.

Grind/tamp sensor issue?

Hi i have a sage/breville coffee machine that’s only 6 mos old. It was dialed in and making good shots of espresso. The last couple days, after I grind my coffee beans and use the built in tamp, it keeps blinking at the lowest light basically saying it’s completely not dosed at all. Even if i add more beans and it grinds more and i tamp it, the light is still at the bottom level saying under dose. I’ve taken the hopper apart cleaned everything out and wiped down the tamper. It’s still doing it. I also feel like the taste of the espresso has completely changed and it taste more sour/bitter.

Is my tamp sensor broken? Is there a reason for why it’s not recognizing that theres beans ground up?

I’m using the same grams of coffee as i have been. Haven’t changed any other settings on it. Is it broken? Has anyone had this issue?

Epic fury - use or lose?

I got short tasked deployed from 25 Feb - 1 July for epic fury. After in processing and r&r it’ll be about 15 July. I wasn’t on continuous hostile pay but we didn’t fly to hostile locations.

I also was completely restricted from being able to take leave for the time i was deployed because I was on status to fly at any given notice. I was actually restricted to a 30 min radius of base for 4 months.

I also have 10 days of mandatory training that i have to attend. So in reality, i only have August/sept to take LV.

I have about 19 days of use or lose. I think i could use up 9-10 days of it. But i hate taking leave just to sit at home and not go anywhere. But trying to plan for that many days of vacations is also expensive. Do i absolutely need to use it up before 1 Oct or what are the odds that the first 1 star would bless me for having special leave accrual roll over into next year?

I’m reading up on SLA and it says I’d have to have been deployed in combat for 120 days which i didn’t. It also seems like i wouldn’t even be able to apply until the fiscal year is done and i run the risk of it not getting approved.

Wanted to get opinions- just take the LV and sit at home or try to get SLA approved but run the risk of forfeiting those days if it gets denied?

Thanks in advance.

TT Bike pre purchase fit question??

Hi all,

I’m looking at purchasing a TT bike but don’t know where to start. i live in rural Germany and the one bike store close to me only sells Orbea that I would custom order. They don’t have any bikes already built in store for me to try out. Do I just pull the trigger and get that brand? When speaking with another experienced triathlete, she said back in the day, she went to a bike store, they took all these measurements, input into a computer and it suggested 3-4 different brands and models and sizes of TT bikes that would fit her measurements. She then went to a bike store that had said bike models and test rode them before pulling the trigger on the one she felt was best

I don’t see a lot of bike stores now a days that just have a plethora of TT bikes sitting around for folks to test drive… what have other people done? Did you guys get fitted and given suggestions or just pulled the trigger on a bike and prayed you’d like it?

it?
