Never been to a gym at 35+. Feeling too shy to start. Need advice from Patiala folks.

Hi everyone,
I'm 35+ and I've honestly never joined a gym in my life. Lately I've been thinking a lot about getting fitter and improving my health, but I keep holding myself back.
The biggest issue is that I feel awkward starting at this age. I don't know how to use most of the equipment, I don't have any gym buddies, and I'm worried I'll just feel out of place among people who already know what they're doing.

Are there any gyms where the trainers are patient and don't judge?
Has anyone else started their fitness journey in their 30s or later?
Would you recommend joining alone, or is it better to find a gym partner first?
I'd really appreciate any advice, encouragement, or even if someone is in a similar situation and wants to start together.
