I wanted to do a poll, but Reddit apparently only allows one vote with up to six options. So comment below which tracks are your top three favorites and why. I’m curious to know because it seems like there’s no consensus favorite from what I’ve observed from other fans. I’m beginning to wonder if this album might have the most diverse mix of opinions out of all of their albums thus far.

So I was just made aware of this announcement after watching this HappyConsoleGamer reaction. I feel just as stunned as he does, perhaps more so because I had no idea this was a possibility. I was hopeful that the gaming industry was witnessing how terrible of an idea the keycards are for Switch 2 and would recommit to physical media. Austin and BJ were talking about that on DQFM only a few weeks ago after the announcement of DQM4.

I know a lot of folks are content with digital only these days, but surely it hasn’t been so many customers that it would lead to such a drastic shift, right?! I guess I was wrong; naive. It’s absolutely wild to me how the music industry has seen such a massive boom in vinyl records sales in recent years, a format I’m sure was written off a dozen times by publishers every decade since the 60s with the invention of cassette tapes, and yet Sony has decided there’s no value in physical media anymore. Absolutely absurd…

Anyhow, the real countdown for XII starts now for me. I was willing to wait for as long was necessary. Had no qualms about Horii announcing they had to completely scrap their original idea because it wasn’t working. But now I’m worried. We need this game released sooner than later.

Square Enix, you have less than 18 months to get it done.

I don’t, but was reminded of how tempting it is to ditch the smart phones for the old flip phone. But then was thinking how bothered a chain of command will probably be if they can’t reach sailors through apps like Signal, GroupMe, or whatever other unofficial apps commands are using these days. Then I was thinking about taking it a step further to get a landline phone and ditch cellular altogether. I have dependents so it isn’t really worth the effort in this day and age, but as a single sailor I could see how it’s worthwhile.

The good? The bad? The ugly?

Yesterday afternoon the band’s admin account dropped three 30-45 second video clips in the group chat of them practicing Third Side of the Moon, Picking Dragons’ Pockets, and Impossible Somedays from inside their ICP studio. Looks like these are some songs we can expect to see on tour this year.
