Do I go and not roll?

So I’m brand new to BJJ. During my first week, I suffered an injury my upper left chest. During a roll, my partner applied pressure with his elbow into my upper chest, and I heard the pop. It wasn’t excruciating, but it got worse over the next few days to the point where some movements were almost unbearable. An x-ray revealed nothing. It took about 6 weeks and it finally dulled to the point that I was comfortable rolling again. I went back and that very next roll almost the exact same thing happened to the lower part of my rib cage. This time it’s not as prohibitive for movement, but it still hurts. I didn’t bother getting an x-ray this time as it hurts less, and the first one was negative anyway. I’m not really sure what the answer is.

With that said, I don’t want to continuously re-injure that area by prematurely training again, but I also don’t want to stop going to class. I don’t want to participate in training and rolls, only to have to tell my partners every time that I need to go 25% so I don’t get re-injured because that’s not fair to them. I also don’t want to completely blow off training. I’m not sure what the middle ground is. Any insight?

Chest rigs/hydration

It seems a lot of people are using chest rigs with radio holders and small pouches. Are you guys wearing water, bladders separately, or carrying your water in a different fashion for hasty searches or training evolutions, etc.? I don’t see a lot of moderately priced options that contain water bladders and a radio holder. Anybody have any insight?

Which C8?

Ok I’m torn:

  1. 2022 Silver C8 3LT, 21K miles at carmax. Virtually perfect paint and interior.

  2. 2023 Hyper Gray Metallic C8 1LT, 7K miles at Carvana. Carvana reports one minor scratch on the front bumper and a minor paint chip on the front of the car. No other damage reported.

Roughly the same price.

I much prefer the color of the Hyper Gray, but I do like the options on the 3LT. With that said, it’s gonna be a weekend fun car, not a daily driver.

The caravana gray one I can’t drive or see any possible paint defects until I pick it up and I’d have to buy the warranty after market.

The carmax silver one I just looked at and it doesn’t have a mark on it and I can get the warranty when I buy it.

What say you?

Is Carvana too much risk?

Is Carvana worth the risk for a low mileage C8? They only show two tiny little paint defects on the pictures, but I’m leery of how accurate that is.

Adding cash to down payment

I’m working on starting a caravana purchase. I have a trade in, and pre-approved outside financing. Carvana wants to know my preapproved limit which is fine, but it calculates exactly what I owe down to meet that limit. I’d like to add more cash down to bring me a little below that pre approval number. Do I just lower report the pre-approval limit so it calculates additional cash down? I don’t see any other place to add additional cash.

Extended warranties

So I’m looking at a 2022 C8 with 8K miles. Factory Power train shows as active with GM, but bumper to bumper is expired. Can I still get a GM extended warranty or can I/should I go with another company? If so, who? Thanks!

Short version, I have preapproval from NFCU. Current auto loan with NFCU with negative equity. NFCU would internally pay off the previous loan with trade value being paid to Carmax and the difference being added to my outstanding loan balance for the new loan. I’ve read that carmax wants cash for negative equity on trades but if it’s being financed by NFCU, carmax should just take the payment from NFCU as if it’s paid in full I assume?
