Anybody else relieved when you try an expensive fragrance and find out you dislike it?

I just got some sample vials of some pricier fragrances, and honestly I'm so so happy I didn't like them despite fully expecting to! It's always a shame to try a fragrance and have it not live up to expectations, but I don't even care right now because thats one less bottle I'll have to yearn for.

The main instigator of this post was Regime des Fleurs Tears in case you're wondering.

Please help me find games w Romance

I’ve been in a rut and I’m dying to play a game with dateable characters. The last games I enjoyed were Cabernet and Mission: It’s Complicated.

I’m debating grabbing Fields of Mistria for the dating aspect, but I rlly dislike farming sims. Is it still worth it or is a large chunk farming?

I’m open to any recs, Tia!

Have you ever had buyers remorse from a fragrance?

Currently feeling a bit bothered because I finally broke down and bought a full price FB after waiting months in hopes of it popping up somewhere at a discount. I don't regret having purchased it because it really is one of my all time favorites. Just kind of mad I didn't have a little more patience.

Spinach cured my painful periods!!

I've had the best period EVER and I really need to share w everyone! For context I've always had extremely painful periods. So painful that I'm essentially bedridden for 2-3 days begging the universe for mercy. The second day is always the worst and heaviest for me. Sometimes I can't even sleep through the night bc the cramps are so bad they wake me up.

Well this past one has genuinely been the best period I've ever had to deal with. I was dreading waking up on day 2, but I had zero cramping, minimal bloating, and the bleeding is so light I didn't leak a single time (I normally always do). I shockingly felt even better than the day before and I kinda still can't believe it!

Anyways, I think the miracle cure was SPINACH! I still need to test this further w future periods, but I saw someone say eating an unreasonable amount of spinach stops cramps. For reference I ate about half a bag/ very full large bowl w lemon juice squeezed over it on day 1 of my period. The lemon juice is essential! It helps your body absorb more of the iron than it would without the added vitamin c. I want to add that I do normally eat steak on periods for iron, but its had no effect on decreasing cramps for me.

Other things I ate on day 1 that might've helped: ginger tea, tumeric tea w black pepper and mint, some almonds, 70% dark chocolate

I truly hope this helps someone and if you know any other good foods to help w periods pls lmk! <3

Help me find my Serge Lutens!

So I've been really trying to get in to Serge Lutens. I really love the overall vibe of the house and a lot of his scents sound super unique, but that's the problem. There's too many!

I have already tried L'Orpheline and was shocked by how much I hated it. Incense is normally my go to. I'm now looking at trying Ambre Sultan, Fils de Joie, Feminite du Bois, and Fille de Berlin. Any opinions on these or other contenders you think I should also try would be appreciated!

Help w Sorce Vampire Wife!

I got a bunch of Sorce samples last week and I loveeee Vampire Wife. However, every time I’ve worn it it seems to have terrible longevity. After the first hour it’s so faint I can only smell it if I put my nose to my skin. I really like this scent and am considering a FB, but I’m hesitant when it seems so weak. Did I just get a bad sample or does anyone experience the same issues? Also it’s had a couple days to “rest” so I’m not sure if that’s the problem.

As title says I'm looking for a good bedtime scent! I don't really like lavender and I'm not looking for anymore vanilla atm. I've been wearing Reve D'ossian, Mochi Milk or Blanche Bette to bed lately, but I'm looking for something more "light and fresh" or airy.

These are my quick impressions from sniffing around Lush without looking up any notes! I can't give full blown reviews since I didn't get to sample any of these on skin. I'd love to hear others opinions on any of these, if you love or hate them.

Dear John: If an Old Fashioned were a person they'd smell like this

Dirty: Very minty like a pack of spearmint gum

American Cream: Smells like subtle sweet gummies? Sort of feels like a softer version of Black Opium over red

Karma: Pool chlorine, but patchouli doesn't agree w me

Lord of Misrule: Smells similar to Bloody Smoke by LP! Very interesting + mysterious

Chelsea Morning: Sweet syrupy butterscotch followed w a bite of lemon

Death and Decay: Was most excited for this one but it smelled like dirty laundry :/

Breath of God: Cold stoney church but in the most modern way possible

29 High Street: Classic clean lush smell! Perfect for after a shower

Lust: No clue why, but this smelled like burnt tires

The Dew on Their Hems: Very light fresh, melon cucumber water. Definition of refreshing.

Tank Battle: First sniff was grassy, and then straight bubblegum! The kind you can only get from the classic red bubble gum machines. Super eccentric and the most unique out of everything I tried. If the Decora aesthetic were a fragrance.

Time of the Season: Made me think of chips and salsa???

~My Favorites~

No Way to Say Goodbye: Juicy yummy black currant! It's fruity, but I could see this being more suited to winter.

V: A spiced powdery floral. Feels slightly melancholy, matches the soft goth aesthetic. This is what I expected Death and Decay/ Nosferatu to smell like!

Goddess: Super woody and subtle smoke. This smells like witchcraft! This was by far my favorite, but is only sold in a large bottle. If anyone knows of something similar pls let me know!
