Possible dime error, or just a one sided dryer coin?

I found this coin in a coinstar reject tray. I don’t think it’s a dryer coin, because wouldn’t the other side have some damage also? Is this some type of die error or did someone damage it in some way? Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.

Need help identifying this pendant

I found this while metal detecting and I’m trying to determine if it’s real. It’s stamped Canada, and what I think says Mav 71. It weighs 8 grams. Google has not been helpful in this mystery. If anyone knows anything about this, thanks in advance.
