2 food places that you swear by in Houston

Hi all! Can you all drop your absolute favorite 2 places in Houston?? I was going to ask for only 1 rec since I only need 1 more place for my trip but I might be able to squeeze the second one into my schedule depending on what crowd says.

Thank you!!

Anyone else feel like losing weight while eating burgers and pizza is too good to be true?

I understand calorie deficits, but mentally I’m struggling with this. I could have an In-N-Out lettuce-wrapped burger for lunch and two slices of Margherita pizza for dinner and still fit my estimated calorie budget.

Yet I keep thinking, “Something’s gotta be wrong. I can’t actually be losing weight eating burgers and pizza.” Eating my favorite foods while making progress feels too good to be true.

Does anyone else relate? Is there something I’m overlooking, or did it take you time to trust that these foods could fit?

Does anyone have a good estimate for this lamb seekh kebab plate? I’m wondering how many calories are in each kebab pieces

Full day of clean eating at 1200 calories

Breakfast - 1/2 cup of Bulgarian yogurt, berries, 1 teaspoon of honey
Lunch - 5.2 oz beef burger with lettuce bun (no sauce no cheese)
Dinner - shredded lettuce quinoa tuna salad with red onions garbanzo beans and dill (olive oil lemon dressing)

Edit: Some context: I’m currently trying to lose weight, and I’ve consulted a weight-loss specialist at Stanford about my nutrition. We discussed around 1,200 calories a day during the cut phase. I’m not presenting this number as advice for anyone else.

I appreciate people who have expressed genuine concern respectfully. However, some of the responses have felt judgmental, and that’s discouraging when I’m already finding this process difficult. I’m open to constructive feedback, but please don’t make assumptions about my intentions or turn concern into criticism of me personally. You can question an approach while still treating the person sharing it with kindness.
