Language Nightmares!

Anyone else having nightmares that their child doesn’t speak or understand the target language?! I’ve had about 3 so far🤣 My baby isn’t quite at the talking stage yet and I think I’m really anxious about the minority language being acquired! I’m the only person in my family who speaks the language anymore and I’m nowhere near fluent so the stress is real.

Why Aren’t Christians Taught Hebrew?

This has been bothering me for some time. Hebrew is such a complex language, and if we’re truly going to understand ancient scripture why aren’t we taught Hebrew in church settings like Jews are in synagogues? I heard one Jewish woman claim, “Christians don’t regularly study Hebrew so that way they can keep believing their misinterpretations.”

Biblical Submission

Can anyone here tell me what the heck biblical submission in marriage is actually supposed to look like?! I feel the evangelicals take it too far, but obviously I would want to follow what God says. I feel like my whole life, all I’ve ever heard was “wives should submit to their husbands” but no one can say what that really looks like. (And not to mention women are always held to a higher standard than the men but that’s another story)

Advice For Heritage Language

Looking for tips from parents who were not fluent in the target language. I come from French ancestry and my husband from French & Cajun. Unfortunately, the language stopped with my great-grandparents and his grandparents. I’m roughly a B1 in French and my husband only knows a few Cajun words. Everyone who spoke French in our immediate family has passed away. What are some ways you helped your child learn the language? (Baby already has tons of French books and music and is currently 10 months old)

Was I given bad advice?

Got started on purées at four months old and took them like a champ. Then one day, started refusing any and all form of solid foods. I blamed a formula change, reflux, and teething, but asides from teething those issues have been resolved now. We have a feeding therapy appointment scheduled next month. In the meantime, our pediatrician said to force food into baby’s mouth but this is opposite from what I’ve heard numerous other people say. Thoughts??
