why are *some* men so disgusting???

why are *some* men so disgusting???

TW: Rape, sexual fantasies

It's going to be a long one so please bear with me.

I was paralysed 10 months ago and i want to slowly get back to dating. However i am now seriously considering just living life alone because i can't believe how disgusting some men can be.

Reddit is the worst. I posted a post on the toast me subreddit because I needed some cheering up and received so many disgusting private messages .. Its unbelievable... >!So many men telling me that the fact that I can't walk out on them makes them horny and that they would love nothing more than to see me struggling with not being able to move!< 🤢🤢

Anyways i created a profile on a dating app that clearly states im 23...the amount of 40 year olds that try to get a date on is just 🤢. >!I even had a 50 year old men said he 💦 to photos of me in my wheelchair 🤢!<

I dunno.. I guess i feel sad because right now it's not looking any good.. Im so scared ill really end up alone because the interactions i get from men is them being disgusting pigs.

Sometimes i really fucking hate men. End of rant.

I really hope this can be classified as a glow up

Ten months ago a drunk driver paralysed me and killed my family. I was fighting for my life for 2 months in a coma. Ironically it also saved my life.

My boyfriend also broke up with me because he said it would be embarrassing to be with someone in a wheelchair.

I was always extremely thin, but at 16 i started using drugs and starving myself. I continued this behaviour until 10 months ago. After the accident, while waiting for the paramedics, I remember how i was mad at myself for restricting myself from eating ice cream, pizza, burgers, chocolate. I promised myself that if i survive I'm going to change.

Fast forward 2 months, I've now woke up from the coma but still in hospital. I obviously started gaining weight rapidly since i went from working out every day and starving myself to using a wheelchair full time and closely monitored while at hospital.

Just a year ago i would have never imagined ever being in a wheelchair or being okay with gaining weight. I don't have my family anymore to be proud of me for healing but I know I'm proud of myself. Even tho the last 10 months have been the hardest of my life i know that one day I'll be happy again.

Do you ever made to feel 'guilty' by other people with SCIs?

Hey everyone. A little rant incoming.

So I'm an L2 incomplete. I have zero feeling or leg function but my bladder and bowel are good, no damage there, full function. I recently started wheelchair basketball and I love it.

Almost everyone on the team is lovely. However there's this one guy that's always starring daggers and passing comments. From the little I talked to him, he's a S2 complete and everytime we cross paths he always brings up the fact that I still have full bladder function.

Seriously, he doesn't miss a chance to huff and puff about how I got the long end of the stick. He's constantly saying I can't compare myself to "true" paralyzed people since I don't have the need for a catheter.

There are other incomplete paraplegics on the team, and some are even ambulatory non paralyzed people, however he only does this with me.

I try to not let him get to me, however sometimes it leaves me feeling guilty..and feeling like I don't belong in the paralyzed community.

Have anyone else ever experienced something like this?

Beach wheelchairs

Hello! I am thinking of going swimming next Friday at Ghadira. I was wondering if beach wheelchairs are available in may?

If they're not available, are there walkways for wheelchairs?

TIA

Silicone handrim covers

Hey everyone! I'm looking to get silicone handrim covers since the metal will be too hot in summer, but I have a question.

I have 24 inches wheels, and when looking through the listings I am seeing a lot of disclaimers saying "22 inch for 20 inches wheels". Is this standard? To order covers slightly bigger than your wheels?

I am so confused.. I never ordered covers before... please help me 🥺

Fellow paraplegics, how do you get rid of leg hair?

I became paralyzed 4 months ago but since it was winter I didn't bother shaving. Now that it's almost summer I want to get rid of my leg hair but I think shaving is going to be difficult? For reference, I'm an L2 incomplete. So my question is, as paraplegics, what is the easiest way for you to get rid of leg hair?

Question for my fellow paraplegics

I became paralyzed 4 months ago, and since it was winter I didn't bother shaving my legs. But now that summer is approaching I want to get rid of my leg hair. I used to shave before, but I think that's going to be extremely hard now. So my question is, as paraplegics, what is the easiest way for you to get rid of body hair?

Hey everyone! I bought a cheap active manual chair off of amazon while I was waiting for my custom chair, because I couldn't take the hospital wheelchair anymore.

I have since received my custom chair, but I was wondering if the chair I bought is a good fit ( well as good as it can get without a custom chair) for travelling or using it indoors?

I would really appreciate the feedback!

I'm sorry for the long post but I need to vent about my horrible flight experience with the Malta International Airport.

So yesterday I arrived in Malta for a 2 hour layover before continuing home. I was told by security that it's better to go check at check in desk to check if the ambulift and aisle wheelchair were ready.

We went to the check in, and we were told there was no booking for assistance. We told them we had booked it MONTHS in advance, and we were told there was nothing. Not even the fact that I'm traveling with a manual wheelchair. After waiting for almost 40 minutes, she finally printed a new wheelchair tag and told us that there will be an ambulift and an aisle wheelchair.

Then we went through security. I was not even asked if I can walk, they just demanded that I get off the wheelchair. I then told them I can't walk and everything went smoothly. Then came boarding. When they were checking the passports before boarding I asked them to check if assistance was really booked, and without checking they said yes and that I'll be boarded first.

Great.

Then came boarding. I was sent down to the tarmac to wait for the ambulift. But no ambulift came. I could see people boarding the bus to go board, even tho I was told I'd board first. After waiting for ages, I was starting to panic, everyone had boarded, check in was closed. The flight was already delayed by 10 minutes, then 20, then 30, then 40. Finally I was boarded the ambulift and transferred to the aisle wheelchair. I told them to take care of my chair and they just rolled their eyes.

I was being pushed on a full plane, going through elbows with people staring daggers at me for "delaying the flight". A woman also loudly said " we could have left on time if it weren't for her non working legs". The staff on board immediately told her to cut it out. Finally arrived at my seat. I transferred out and the flight finally took off. The rest of the journey was smooth sailing but oh god was the experience in Malta so bad.

I never felt so humiliated in my life 💔 have any of you ever had terrible flight experiences?

I am so happy but I have no one to share my happiness irl!!

Basically I moved to a very hilly area 6 months ago and just until yesterday I thought I couldn't go out alone. But yesterday I tried and omg I found a long road to the bus stop that by passes all the hills and I easily propelled myself the whole way 🥺

I am so proud of myself because just last January I couldn't propel myself more than a hundred metres. I'm going longer and longer distances 🥹

Is it common not to get your period after Norethisterone? I stopped them 5 days ago and I still haven't gotten my period.
