Dreame L40 Pro Ultra wet mop pads

I have a Dreame L40 Pro Ultra and noticed that the room the robot rests with the dock started to smell. Upon further investigation it appears the mop pads were still wet and smelly but the last time I mopped was a week ago. I cleaned the area on the dock and changed mop pads and will wash the smelly ones, but any idea what happened here?

The other issue is that as I was changing the mop pads the outer Velcro circle on one of the plastic disc that hold the pads on came off and stayed stuck on the mop pad. I managed to tear it from the mop pad and place back in the disc, but it’s obviously going to happen again when I tear off another pad. Any advice for submitting a warranty request? I am in Aus and emailed Dreame and they said to submit a request via Solvup. When I search I can’t find anywhere to submit as a consumer. I’ve heard about Dreame customer service and looks like I’m going to get the run around.

Also, I’ve had the vacuum a few months now and run the mop 1-2 times a week (missing a week here and there) and the detergent tank is still half full. Is this normal? Perhaps it’s not being used?

Edit: The drying setting is enabled in the app.

Aus Super Member Direct

I am currently with Aus Super and using their pre mix High Growth option. I’ve been looking into their Member Direct (MD) option and am seriously considering switching. I’m across most of the advantages/disadvantages, but some of the disadvantages I’m still thinking on. The other option is their DIY mix of Aus/Int which is less of a commitment. If I were to switch to MD, I would probably go with an all in one ETF like DHHF or VDHG.

Some of the disadvantages that have me worried the most are:

- Not being able to access TTR
- Being locked in for the next 20-25 years to the one vendor and investment option. This concerns me for a few different reasons:

  1. Aus Super closing down. This would force a sell triggering a CGT event. This one is pretty unlikely.
  2. MD no longer being available. Again, probably low risk.

As the tax environment changes outside of super, and potentially inside of super, other vendors or products might be offered. For example, VDHG was the only all in one ETF available for quite a while and now there are multiple offerings with different allocations and more tax efficiency. 20-25 years is a long time.

Investment option being removed. You aren’t forced to sell so not a huge deal, but not ideal.

For those that are currently using MD, any feedback (good or bad) would be great. Any thoughts/reasoning/counter arguments regarding these disadvantages is much appreciated.

[Lagom Casa, Bambino Plus] taste not right

I recently upgraded my grinder from a Baratza ESP to a Lagom Casa. The Casa seemed to fit my profile as I drink mainly medium roast specialty coffee. I do however drink milkies mainly. I use a Bambino Plus.

I love the look and build quality but I’m having a very hard time getting a good flavor. I was able to get nice sweet tasting shots from the ESP and even while I was waiting for the Casa to arrive I had a local cafe grind some beans for me and while it was too fine, I was able to play with dosing to get a decent taste.

I am fairly meticulous with prep and have a leveling spring tamp, puck screen, WDT, weigh and time input and output etc. I’ve tried different ratios and extraction times but I keep getting this after taste that lingers. I don’t know how to explain it except for that it reminds me of pod coffee. Not sure if something is off with the grinder or maybe this is a new taste profile that isn’t for me. Everywhere I read people say that they love the taste so it has me confused. It’s possible I am also doing something wrong but I was able to get good coffee from my ESP and even pre ground stuff.

Dialing in the Casa to a certain yield and timing is much easier and I love the workflow, but this taste I’m getting no matter what bean I use honestly is not good for me. The taste lingers for the day as well and kind of puts me off my next coffee. I have so far used 3 types of speciality beans all of medium roast which I usually love without success. I have ordered a variety pack so I can try a bunch of other coffees, but I’m at a loss.

Maybe the Niche Zero is the grinder for me.
