Hi y’all, so I just wanted to ask your guys’s thought on my scenario.

So a bit ago this person contacted me on Reddit about doing a commission art piece and I agreed. We went back and forth and they seemed perfectly fine to me. However I did find it strange that a random person messaged me in Reddit asking to do commission work for me

Everything was going well but the more we go into the process the more skeptical I got. I found some posts talking about these art work scams and another post saying they use ai for their art etc. anyways I tried canceling it but then they persuaded me into continuing because they can’t cancel mid work etc. They’re charging $145 usd (I’m from Canada so everything is converted through PayPal) for the art work btw and I still owe them $70.

One thing that’s making me rethink again is that all of the “revisions” and changes I request seem to take awhile to change even tho it’s something as simple as a colour change. For example last week they sent me the coloured image and I requested for the hair to be darker and the suit to be red instead of blue. The other day I messaged asking if there’s any update and they said they’re still working on it and proceeded to ask me about any update on if I get paid (I told them I’d pay the rest on my next payday)

I am wondering what I should do because the more I think about it the more I don’t think I should trust them and send the remaining $70. The art looks good and how we talked about but idk if I should go through with finishing it. We also talked about putting the art work in a shirt which they also still haven’t shown me a mock up of despite telling me they’d show me one tomorrow a week ago. Looking at it too I’m not sure how much they’ll charge for that and to me $145usd is already pricey for the art work

They have also told me that it’s okay for me to pay in instalments but also keep asking about payment?. I’m thinking if I should just block them and call it a day.
