I'm in a cellular dead zone so wondering if I connect to my home WiFi will allow the DCM to send its spy data on me successfully, possibly helping the 12v drain. It occurs to me that it might only transmit over cellular, which would doom that experiment.
The only downside would be wireless CarPlay not connecting when I enter the vehicle but I'm happy to just plug my phone into USB-C.
I'm one of the many people bitten by the problem where the 12V battery gets completely drained if the car isn't driven for a few days. I've heard that the factory installed batteries are usually mid-at-best and only good for a year or two anyway so I'm thinking about just replacing it with something better now. I've heard AGM and Lithium batteries are the premium options but I've only had the old kind before sonI don't know the options well.
What's the best battery y'all have found that will easily fit? Hoping for maximum capacity and durability in the face of being cons run low-ish by the overnight drain. The longer the years of expected life the better too.
Also**, what is the proper dimension/size/ specs our car requires?** Couldn't seem to find that in the manual.
What kind of insurance rates are y’all getting and how do they compare to other late model EV or ICE vehicles you’ve had?
I’m hoping to buy a Trailseeker in the next few days, but slightly worried about insurance because I’ve heard it’s often noticeably higher for EVs(this is my first). I suspect that the Trailseeker might not have as much of this problem because it’s from a normie major brand like Subaru/Toyota instead of Tesla/Rivian and not marketed as a “performance/luxury vehicle but I’m just guessing.
