Scored a set of these the other day. Very cool, except for the smooth aluminum one. Wicked slippery. Flipped it across the room every time I tried it. The other two, though? Awesome. Excellent control and feel. Very deliberate in the hand. Highly recommended. Except for the smooth aluminum one.
I am a guitarist that loves bass guitars as well, but has never owned one. This one may be my first. The Adam Blackstone sig. Absolutely killer aesthetic similar to my LM87.
I've been playing with this lately. It certainly forces a technique, but it's honestly pretty cool. I always use heavy picks, but this is on another level. Zero flex. Unique attack. I'm liking it very much. Thoughts on coins? Brian May likes his sixpence, so i guess it's a thing to some.

Hendrix-style bridge pickup orientation. Eric Johnson bridge pickup tone mod. Plated brass knobs and switch tip. I LOVE this guitar.

I haven't gone through to see if anyone else posted this, but Jellifish has entered the chat. Has anyone else ever used one of these? I had one years ago and it was, well... interesting. Chorus effect as advertised? No, not really. Crazy sounds from your guitar? Yeah. Usable sounds? No, not really. Maybe for a noise artist processing said sounds, but that's about it.
I absolutely love this amp. Single 12" Celestian 70/80. Two EL34s. Very versatile amp. One of my favorite ways to play it is through the "Boutique Clean" channel with the volume cranked and the master reigning things in getting those tubes to sweat, and the ISF swung to "American." The ringing crunch that I can get is unreal. Exceptional tone.
The rarest of the Mark Morton Dominion line... the first-gen MIJ "Primer" model. Only made for two years, 2006 and 2007, in much lower numbers than all of the other initial run finishes, "Riverbed," "Wine Drunk," "Bourbon Burst," and "Old School Burst." Featured unique satin finish hardware including tuner buttons and no shark eye fretboard inlays. This particular unicorn belongs to a very lucky cat by the name of Jim Barker who understandably thought this was a prototype. Not a prototype, but one of the last "Primer" trims made, with a 2007 build date. The "Primer" models offered in 2008, to the best of my research, were carryovers from 2007. Jim, if you read this, you've got one serious plank, brother.
This ad/catalog print from 2006 is the reason I bought my Jackson Dominion. This was the very first one and it predates Mark naming it the Dominion. It's just the "Mark Morton Signature Guitar" here. It discusses the bloodline with the custom shop Swee'tone series, as well. Very cool. I scored a special order in "Riverbed" finish and a G&G hardshell case from Drum City/ Guitar Land out of Denver. I grabbed another special order with them four years later... a new for 2010 Engl Powerball ii head and 2x12 cabinet. Those guys always have killer gear.
I never really warmed up to the vibe of the active LoZ set in this plank, so after many years of her being a case queen I finally tore into the work. Replaced the LoZ set with Dimarzio D-Activators, Bourne 500k pots, Treble King treble bleeds, 223 Orange Drop, 3-way minis (series/split/parallel), JAT custom knobs, and a plated brass switch tip. Ive been getting alot of wiring and soldering practice in lately and had fun with this one, too. Some redundant grounding, and I need to get my puddles cleaner, but Im still pretty happy with it all. I scored a TBI while I was in the Army and my hands shake a good bit, but I'll get better at the soldering. I have a black set of no-holes pickup covers coming just to change it up once in awhile. Thanks to everyone that offered suggestions on mods for this. It frigging rips now.

Bought new in 2003 from Everything Musical in Columbus, GA. SA160 modded in an Andy Timmons sort of way... Dimarzio Cruiser neck slot, Chopper middle, and Evo2 in the bridge slot. CTS pots with Mojotone bleed, split switch for the Chopper. Q-Parts MOP knobs, aluminum switch tip. Stripped down trem with brass saddles. Brass spring claw.
Owned it since new and love the guitar for many reasons... aesthetics, feel, single cut. Everything but the sound. I pulled the active LoZ pickups and harness. I was leaning toward installing a Sustainiac system and a nice aggressive bridge humbucker, but I am actually open to suggestions. Surprise me. I'm good with a soldering iron so you can get creative. Other mods, too.
I modded my 2005 Ibanez AWD82t a bit. Duncan Phat Cat in the neck, Jackson USA switch tip, CTS pots, additional volume, Mojotone treble bleeds, Orange Drop tone cap, "lefty" trem bar position. I love this guitar. Plays like butter and sounds great with a variety of tones on tap. Very touch sensitive.
So, I finally finished my eBay project. She turned out to be quite a player, too, despite breaking my stones the whole way. Started with an eBay basket case. Ended up with a PC-3 ish DK2m that works. Scored all new PC style brushed hardware including switch tip. Many new Floyd parts, a Trem-Endus (though not sure if im digging that), a new Duncan Jazz in the neck slot, an original Duncan TB4 in the bridge slot. Rewired everything... new CTS pots with treble bleeds and orange drops, custom back plates, new wrench holder, and routed the body to access the truss rod under the neck pickup. I wired the 5-way for some solid options... position 1-TB-4, 2- both pickups, 3- Jazz, 4- Jazz & TB-4 split (outer coils), and 5- TB-4 split. A very rewarding project. Hope you all dig it as much as I do. PS I have a white capped TB-4 on the way to match the Jazz.
Upgraded to Q-Parts knobs with stained bone tops, a Jackson USA switch tip, and a TKL case. Killer plank. Cheers.
