First time in Jamaica

I’m a US tourist visiting Jamaica for the first time. I’m getting ready to fill out my C5 form. I usually travel with over the counter medication (allergy, vitamins, sleep aids). Would I check ‘Yes’ on Question 2 on the “I am Bringing” section?

DC Metro Area

Trying to figure out my next career move. If I were to accept a job with the feds in DC proper, where would you suggest buying a house? What are the advantages and disadvantages of Northern VA vs. MD (home prices, taxes, insurance, etc.)?

I am fully aware of the traffic nightmares in/out of DC and yes I know about the Metro (pic taken on a Sunday)?

Former Feds: Did you rollover your TSP?

I’m a former fed with over 15.5 years of service. I have contributed to TSP since 2012. 6 months ago, I landed a contractor job. Company offers a 401(k) which I did sign up for and currently getting matching at 4%. However, I have kept my TSP.

One of my benefits I signed up for is for financial consulting (not related to the 401(k) provider) for a very low negligible deduction off my paycheck. I’ve had about 4 financial meetings and they’re trying to steer me towards rolling over my TSP into their investment portfolios and structure notes. I get it, it’s to grow it; they claim their portfolios and structure notes outperform the TSP.

Naturally, I’ve been very hesitant with the idea of even touching my TSP.

I wanted to get some input/feedback from people here.

Hit a milestone!

2022 Tucson SEL: I drove it off the dealership with only 10 miles on it back in 2021. Now 5 years later, I’ve hit 100k miles!

For context: I actually pulled into a parking lot and it read 99,999 😂 I circled back and forth a couple times until it rolled over to 100k.

Maybe My Future Girlfriend is Reading This

I’m 39.

I’ve tried the apps.

I’ve swiped, matched, chatted, and watched conversations disappear for reasons I’ll probably never understand.

At this point, I’m not convinced an algorithm is going to write my love story.

The problem is I don’t exactly make it easy either.

I work from home. Most of my hobbies happen at home. So if we’re ever going to meet in person, you’re probably going to have to find me.

Try the grocery store. Lowe’s. Home Depot. Maybe while I’m wandering around looking for something I forgot I needed.

When you do find me, don’t worry about having the perfect pickup line.

I’m not looking for perfection. Just someone kind, genuine, and easy to be around. Someone whose actions match her words.

I know I’m not for everyone, and that’s okay.

I’d rather wait for something real than settle for something convenient.

So wherever you are, I hope life is treating you well. I’ll keep working on myself until our paths cross.

And if you happen to see a 39-year-old Puerto Rican guy staring at a shelf trying to remember why he walked into that aisle, feel free to say hello.

Do DoD Former Feds receive performance awards?

I am a Former Fed (15+ years, all DoD). Just out of curiosity, I left federal service in Feb. 2026. I technically worked throughout the majority of the appraisal period (normally April 1-Mar. 31).

Would I be eligible for a performance award, despite leaving a month before the appraisal period was over?
